A LIVING STORY
Pirates find themselves at the heart of an expanding storyline as Sea of Thieves continues to grow and change. Game updates have seen formerly friendly characters falling foul of dark curses and the return of old foes, bringing new threats and new types of gameplay to the seas.
As more game features arrive, they’re presented as part of the ever-evolving lore by Larinna and her Bilge Rats, continuing interwoven narrative threads as villainous forces – like Captain Flameheart and his Ashen Lords – fight to claim the seas for themselves.
Beyond The Horizon
Season Three unleashed one of the grandest, most exhilarating adventures yet as two pirate worlds collided, bringing a certain Captain Jack Sparrow to the Sea of Thieves.
The ensuing saga of alliances, awakenings and priceless Pirate Treasure is called Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life, and can be started by visiting the Castaway’s Camp at any Outpost. Doing so will lead you on a journey through the five newest Tall Tales to take place on (and beyond) the Sea of Thieves. Should you enjoy the experience, many other Tall Tales remain available to tackle from earlier eras!
UNFORGETTABLE CHARACTERS
Mysterious mystics, greedy Gold Hoarders, cursed rogues and skeletal parrots all have a story to tell, and many of them will play key roles as you dive into the game’s campaign of Tall Tales.
It’s best to begin your journey of discovery with the nine ‘Shores of Gold’ Tall Tales, gaining insight into skeleton schemes and secret fortunes, before exploring more recent episodes involving the notorious Captain Flameheart – an enemy whose threat is still very real indeed.
PLAYER STORYTELLING
Players are the lifeblood of their own Sea of Thieves stories, and their adventures are commemorated by the clothing, weapons and titles they can equip. You can tell at a glance which pirates have faced the Heart of Fire or overcome that most elusive Megalodon, the Shrouded Ghost.
Members of Sea of Thieves’ community also love to speculate on the many unexplained mysteries within the game, crafting stories and videos from in-game footage and using their crews, costumes and emotes to spark the imagination of others.
