This Month in Sea of Thieves: May 2026
The calendar helpfully informs us that May has indeed begun, so it’s time to get to work on our next This Month in Sea of Thieves article! With the enhanced Faction fighting promised in Act 3 looming on the horizon, plenty of chances to snap up new cosmetics and all the latest Emporium deals and musical delights, you won’t want to miss out on what’s coming up.
‘Soulflame Captain’ Release – Friday, May 8th
The next addition to the ever-growing Sea of Thieves soundtrack sees us reaching back into the past to reinvigorate an oldie but goodie: from May 8th, you’ll be able to listen to ‘Soulflame Captain’, a familiar tune to those who remember some of our previous Adventures, on your favourite streaming platform. Treat your ears to this moody piece as you get ready to dive into the next major monthly moment…
Sea of Thieves Season 19: Act 3 – Thursday, May 14th
That’s right, barely any time to go until Act 3 graces our shores! We’ll get to its month-long headline feature in just a moment, but a reminder first that this update also delivers all the other things you’ve come to expect: new Deeds to be completed with rewards to unlock, improvements and bugfixes aplenty and, of course, an early login gold haul for anyone who joins us in the first week following the release. As for what those new Deeds are all about, we need to turn to the Hourglass of Fate…
Last Ship Standing – Thursday, May 14th – Thursday, June 18th
Fights, Festivals & More Fights might have been a more accurate name for Season 19 – and that’s because during Act 3, all Sloop crews using the Hourglass to dive into battle will enter a round of Last Ship Standing, a new challenge pitting up to six crews against each other in a battle to survive on the strange tides of the Sea of the Damned. A new fighting space has been crafted specifically for these clashes, dotted with environmental hazards and landmarks to challenge your combat abilities.
In recognition of the added dangers in taking on a fleet of enemies, both Factions will be offering increasing amounts of Allegiance the longer you last in each battle. Perform well, or even emerge the victor, and you’ll start ticking off those Deeds and picking up some Battle-Scarred souvenirs for your ship too.
Twitch Drops – Friday, May 15th – Wednesday, May 20th
Following the monthly update, as always, comes a fresh selection of Twitch Drops. Tuning in to a Sea of Thieves Partner or Affiliate Alliance stream for a few hours between May 15th and 20th (10am UTC) will earn you rewards ranging from gold, Renown and a Voyage of Luck to cosmetics including the Hear No Evil Emote, Mediocre Marauder Title, Amethyst Mercenary Belt and Gloves and eventually the Graveyard Gladiator Figurehead. Just make sure your Twitch and Sea of Thieves accounts are linked before you start!
Pirate Emporium Bright and Bold Sale – Friday, May 22nd – Monday, May 25th
If those Drops aren’t enough to spice up your cosmetic chests, it might be time to delve into the latest sale in the Pirate Emporium. This month, its shopkeepers are celebrating the many colours of spring with a hand-picked collection of chromatic choices, all available at discounts of up to 30%, including clothing, ship sets, equipment and more. So if you’re considering a more colourful pirate appearance for fun and plunder in the sun, there’s no better time to make it happen.
That about brings us to the end of the month and, inevitably, this article too. Last Ship Standing calls, and we hope to see you there when it launches next week! In the meantime, you can always find us on all the regular social channels, and we’ll be back here in a month’s time to tell you what’s coming next as another new Season approaches. Until then, good luck on the Sea of the Damned – make your Faction proud!
