FAQ
The Emporium can be reached by speaking to certain characters inhabiting the Outposts, through the game’s main menu or via the Pirate Emporium page on the Sea of Thieves website.
Ancient Coins can be purchased from the Microsoft Store, or by visiting the Pirate Emporium in Sea of Thieves. Players participating in the Microsoft Rewards scheme can trade their accumulated points for Ancient Coin bundles. Coins are also rewarded to players who defeat rare Ancient Skeletons through emergent gameplay.
If Ancient Coins are purchased from the Microsoft Store, they must be added to your account and validated by logging in to Sea of Thieves before they’re available to spend in the Emporium.
Pirate Emporium items function in the same way as other Sea of Thieves cosmetics. Once purchased, they’ll need to be selected from the appropriate chest and equipped to your pirate or ship.
In line with the Microsoft Store policy, some requests for real money purchases are refundable. Refunds will only be processed if the request is within 14 days of the transaction and no Ancient Coins have been spent.
Unfortunately, purchases made with Ancient Coins cannot be refunded.
Yes, real world pricing was introduced to the Pirate Emporium in 2020. When you want to purchase an item, you’ll be presented with a price in your local currency. Click to buy the item in question, and the transaction will be made via purchase of an appropriately sized Ancient Coins pack. Any Ancient Coins left over from this pack will be added to your in-game wallet.
