Sea of Thieves: Season Ten

A sensational new Season has begun! Featuring the arrival of Guilds, a competitive twist on Voyages and a new mode for private play, there’s a lot to be excited about before you even get to the brand new Plunder Pass and Seasonal Renown rewards…

New Features

Unlike previous Seasons, you’ll see game-changing features delivered regularly throughout Season Ten. Guilds, the Skull of Siren Song and Safer Seas are among the expansive additions and updates designed to provide new ways to explore and play.

Safer Seas

October saw Season Ten’s arrival with Guilds in tow, November delivered the competitive Skull of Siren Song Voyage, and December has opened the way to Safer Seas: a new game mode that lets players explore the Sea of Thieves without disruption from other crews for the first time!

While some features are unavailable in Safer Seas and the rate of progression is limited to balance the lower jeopardy, it provides an ideal way for newer pirates to learn the ropes, for story-seekers to thread their way through Tall Tales uninterrupted, or for a hand-picked crew to explore the world and encounter only its natural dangers.

Skull of Siren Song Voyage

The Skull of Siren Song is both a precious artefact and a potent weapon. Captain Briggsy will pit pirate crews against each other to find it and fight off all foes to fetch it to her, with gold to be earned and Commendations that unlock unique rewards!

The Hunt

Any crew discovering the telltale note pinned to their mast can take on the Skull of Siren Song Voyage. Briggsy has maps to the Chest of Siren Song and the Key to open it – but she’ll also hand these to other competing crews, and so the hunt begins…

The Extraction

Seek and fight for the Chest of Siren Song and its corresponding Key. These are buried on different islands, so expect to battle other crews to bring the two things together! The unearthed Chest and Key will be visible on the map, as will the Skull itself.

The Race

Once the Chest is unlocked, look for Briggsy’s beacon and race to hand her the Skull for your reward. The Skull’s song can be used as a powerful short-range weapon, but you’ll also endure the curse that slows your ship while it’s aboard. Good luck!

Create Your Own Guild

Band together with other pirates invited to sail beneath your own banner! With a player-created Guild, you can plan and build a fleet that expands your seafaring connections well beyond your usual crew, working together to earn riches for all.

Personalisation

A Guild is intended to bring like-minded players together in a space that reflects their approach to Sea of Thieves. To make sure your Guild fully represents you and your friends, you’ll be able to customise your Guild Name, Crest, Colours and Motto!

New Connections

Though bonds forged on the Sea of Thieves are strong, some pirates may feel a four-person crew limits their reach when connecting with fellow sailors. A Guild allows up to 24 invited Members to sail asynchronously, sharing ships, goals and Guild progress.

Pledging Ships

Sail on your friends’ ships, even when they’re offline! All pirates who pledge a ship to a Guild can choose to let other Guild Members take it out and sail it, not only building up Guild Reputation but progressing Ship Milestones on the owner’s behalf.

Distinctions and Emissaries

As your victories increase, your Guild will make a name for itself. Earn enough Guild Reputation and you’ll unlock Distinctions, upgrading your Crest and Plaque and enabling you to complete new Commendations! For even more risk and reward, set sail as a Guild Emissary…

Guild Chronicles

With a potential 24 Guild Members contributing their own experiences and accomplishments, you’ll need somewhere to keep track of it all. That’s where the Guild Chronicles come in, acting as a running log of all the goings-on within your Guild.

Exclusive Rewards

Guild Reputation is about more than just pride – you’ll earn prizes too! As Guild Members pool their efforts to achieve Distinctions, new cosmetics are unlocked for all, marking how far you’ve come together. And for Guild Emissaries, the Ledger offers rewards of its own.

Hot Topic Features

Hit Detection and Combat Changes

Combat accuracy gets some extra attention! We've made improvements to hit detection for the pistol, blunderbuss and Eye of Reach, while cutlass clashes now put greater emphasis on skill. Aim Assist also offers support to controller users, ensuring PvP is fairer across different platforms.

Quality of Life Improvements

Enjoy a host of these in Season Ten, including the ability to repair Rowboats! Players who rejoin a session after being disconnected will now find their inventory just as they left it, while improvements to Resource Crates, Merfolk and more are yours to explore too.

A wealth of new features to be discovered!
