Is it now time to start upping the spawn rate of the megs
(Not just shrouded ghost)
All I ever seem to spawn is the crested queen n hungering one

@chris-houlden I enjoyed the Meg Spawn rate when Shrouded Spoils was first introduced and have been disheartened by the current Meg Spawn rate. I'm currently working on my final few commendations while I wait for our new update, and last night I quite literally sailed around in all the Meg Spawn locations trying to get anything to spawn and in 3.5 hours I only saw one Meg.
Since I'm also one who has yet to locate the Ghost Meg, I'm of course on board with increasing the probability of the Ghost Meg, but I doubt that is something the developers will do. So, I continue my hunt! Good luck on the Seas!
As a player who sails daily, usually for 3-6 hours. Ive killed more than 200 megs. Completed the the first three colors of megs and only need 10 more of the ancient terror. I have yet to see a shrouded ghost. So at this rate it will take me 5 years to complete the commendation for The ghost. Thats ridiculous. I have complete almost all the commendations, save for the oos voyage completions and devil's roar cargo. The fact rare tied a commendation to an rng spawn ad low as the ghost is also ridiculous.
Out of over 11000 megalodons killed in a day across all servers, 11 were Shrouded Ghosts. It's very much there. Just sail around doing other things, you'll see it eventually. If you really want it quickly (you shouldn't, since this kind of thing will keep you entertaining yourself by trying to get it), then you can just sail around in circles killing every megalodon you see.
@ultmateragnarok Where'd you find that statistic? I'm just curious, as I've always wondered the statistical breakdown of the Megs. Thanks!
There is an event, called Guess for Gold, where players guess on the forums how many of a certain task was completed - skeletons or their ships killed, krakens or megalodons defeated, strongholds cleared, chests dug up, that kind of thing. In one for the amount of Shrouded Ghosts killed in a day, the answer was 11. It seems I was thinking about a different number when talking about the megalodons killed overall, which was 6,441 in the day. There are a lot of interesting statistics on those contests, such as the 1.4 billion gold earned in a day or the 1.9 million fired cannonballs.

i feel like people hunt commendations too aggresively, like im not gonna spend 3.5 hours doing nothing on the sea hoping a meg spawns, if i dont find the shrouded ghost by the time i have done everything else im probs not gonna do it. i always thought of it as a rare mythical thing that only a few people will get, so i never really felt like i needed to find it, more that i would be lucky if i happened to see it.
the commendations to me arent something i gotta collect all of, just something to mark what i have achieved, and i feel thats what the devs meant them for, so idk if they would increase the shrouded ghosts spawn rate, and i think it would make it less special if it had an increased spawn rate
@ultmateragnarok when you spend 3 plus hours on the seas nightly. Have come across 400 plus megs and killed more than 200 of those. You would think that it would have spawned. I have played with many of the top players in this game, commendations, mileage and achievements. none of them have seen the ghost.
There are only two things to strive for in this game. Rep and commendations. Once you are maxed out on rep the comendations are the onlything to strive for. Seeing as 5 of these need to be killed to get 100% completion its a little bit of a joke that in a year of playing regularly I and those I've played with have yet to see it.
The Shrouded Ghost is rare enough to be a special event. Another thing which was once like this is the Box of Wondrous Secrets - few find it, and those that do are given a spotlight for a time. I've seen stories of ships battling, sometimes 4-5 ships at a time, and all of them teaming up on a Shrouded Ghost when it leaps out among the ships. You won't get your own version of this moment if you have Rare up the spawn rates for it, because then it'll just be another megalodon to ignore. Plenty of players see it, as I said above, there were 11 killed (and likely more seen which either won or escaped) in a single day. You just have to keep trying, it'll come to you and your crew eventually.
Oh please no i really dont like out of balance monster madness events.. everytime they get this game a little balanced and enjoyable to play then a new event crashes the world with new and old bugs and ridiculous spawnrates 🤯
I love megan she is part of all me adventures as is karen but these mating seasons are a pain 🤕
