I would like to know how a rainbow flag is political? I am genuinely curious, because it feels like someone who does not like gay thing, uses the "Its politics!" argument.
Being against gay rights is not a political issue, isn't it a religious or "I think its icky" issue? If I don't think dwarfs should have rights, that's not a political issue, that's a "I am a d***' issue. Giving rights to colored people used to be 'politics' back in the day, should we be outraged at Rare for allowing any colored character to be in the game? (I know, its a strong, damn near outrageous comparison).
People are attaching their beliefs to their politics, doesn't necessarily make it a politics.
Is it the way in which it is added? Rare saying the flag is essentially to depict the LGBT community. Would people be so upset had they announced the rainbow flag would be added without mentioning "the game is to include any race, ethnicity, orientation, etc"?
Religious flags I can understand not wanting to be added into the game, along with actual political flags (i.e republican/democrat flags from U.S) due to historical attacks, repression, slaughter, etc.
It just feels odd to me, that so, so many people are against it. I have seen many arguments that just don't make sense. "Well, it isn't very pirate-y!" Neither are the majority of the other flags, or sails, or other cosmetics.
"Where is my -insert flag here-?!" it might come, They didn't release all the sails and hulls at the same time? I don't see much outrage for a pink sail color when red has already been added. We know this game has been a little slow on trickling out cosmetics, so I am sure more flags will follow.
Idk, I see it less of a political statement and more of s statement "we're not d***s".
However, if you think there is a legitimate reason why the rainbow flag should not be included in the game, I am all ears.
