Daily and weekly challenges

  • A daily challenge for each vendor in which you gain extra gold and reputation towards the faction you complete it for. A larger weekly challenge that awards even more for each. Challenges could be things like sink a ship, explore 10 islands, kill a shark, and other stuff to bring focus to some of the things you may not normally do while playing.

  • This is a great idea and doesnt sound too hard to implement, as a current PL id still do these just for the extra coin.

  • @simplybutta thank you, i think some new ways of earning gold are needed, and this would also provide us with some more casual play. When i go online i usually play for a few hours, doing a few good voyages, and by providing this daily objective (possibly rewarded the new bilge rat currency) could make this game a part of peoples daily routine by giving them a reason to log on daily.

  • Yeah for sure! I love when people share these great ideas! Give me a reason to kill these sharks other than the fact theyre going after my friends while theyre swimming to the ship

  • @hoodrich905 Okay, now you're touching a nerve that has been exposed for four years by expecting Rare, the masterminds behind increasing the shark spawn by ten fold and tweaking bullet sponge skeleton spawns to an infinity amount, to now become creative on a daily basis. lol

    The idea is great, the implementation is feasible, but the possibility of Rare doing it is very unlikely.
    C'mon, the very first bi-weekly event had us sitting on highchairs for crying out loud.

    Besides going over the already existing repeat of fetch quests it would be hard for anyone to think of more than a handful of daily challenges.

    It would be good if Rare devoted a thread for weekly (or even daily) challenge suggestions, moderated by an employee whom would add the brief suggestions this community make, to a list for Rare to further decide upon and or develope.
    Repeat suggestions could be greyed-out / deleted or ignored.

    Fine-print credit could be given to the idea creator on the bottom of the quest.

    Excellent suggestion! The best part is, it doesn’t require any additional “content”.. just lets us use the existing game elements in new ways. We need this kind of thinking much more than we need the dangling carrot of ghost ships or volcanos at present.

  • Also make one single player and one multi crew. Since the multi crew thing is the way RARE wants to go, if they offered something daily to do it would get people used to the idea, each day or week working together, would almost become second nature. But like any challenge if working with a separate crew isnt what you want dont go for the challenges.

    I like it, every other game has daily and weekly challenges

  • @norloc Yeah 100%! It'd be a good way to draw people towards the things they wouldn't normally do. For instance... kill 10 skeletons with a blunderbuss, complete 3 voyages for a certain faction, catch 5 chickens, etc etc. And a weekly could be like complete a skull fort (joint crew), or play a shanty with another crew, stuff like that
