Getting stuck and respawn on ship

Was at a Outpost cashing in when a galleon came up and started shooting. Was able to cash my stuff in then went and boarded The Galleon. I was able to swipe a villainous skull. while making the Mad Dash to the Merchant I was taking every possible shortcut I could see. Until I tried swimming between the pier. Where the support poles hold the pier up under water. Bam! Black screen. Respawn back to my fresh ship at a distant Island. Let's close those off a little bit so it doesn't look like we can make it through.
