Skeleton Fort Key Respawn

  • more than one occasion for me and the more that I play, the more that hear about this happening. While the running and hiding the key is a perfectly valid and okay tactic, the never opening the door is very obnoxious and wastes everybodies time and resources as well as nerves. My suggestion is not to create a distance limit but rather a time limit where the key will eventually respawn back onto the island AFTER the player travels a certain distance. A good 25-30 minute timer would be nice, as we all know that the player who took the key will be persued by others and while this still gives them a chance to get away, or battle it out; it also gives them time to get back and open the door, or for the key to just respawn. It will A. Add a sense of urgency and B. Be a risky and potentially rewarding tactic for the person who took the key. This will make them weigh out the risk vs reward and the other party invovled isn't completely out of the payout if the player who ran with it isn't capable of returning to open the door.

  • They completed the fort, they where better and faster than the others, they ran out with the key,the key is theirs, and they do whatever they want to it,what you want is basically be able to be camping at the fort,so that the guys that took the key cannot return so they don't risk the key,and then the key magically comes to you,no,such a bad idea

  • Worst idea ever. Like I want to worry about a galleon camping the time limit when I’ve already got to outrun them after doing the whole fort myself? Dislike x1,000,000. You win the fort you decide, you lose the fort, you get nothing!

  • This removes the strategy of running with the key. Everyone will just stay at the fort and it removes the required work to obtain the key.

If you want the key, be the crew that takes it from the Captain or from the crew that takes it from the Captain. If the treasure is lost because someone ran with the key, better luck next time.

The crew that obtains the key should retain the right to do whatever they want with it. If that includes "if we can't have it, nobody else will", so be it.

  • I think chasing the crew that has the key on board is significantly more exciting than chasing them when they have the treasure on board. Think about it, if they have the treasure on board they can simply do drive by's and drop off most of the good loot at the island. Especially if they've got a small distance on you and a better angle to the island so you can't use your cannons to launch over to it.

However, with the skeleton fort key the entire treasure is locked up. Waiting for YOU to come and take it. You just have to snag that key first. A 25 - 30 minute timer would be incredibly too low anyway. There would be zero incentive to chase the ship with the key. You'd just have to wait at the island until they return or the key respawns.

  • Why does the key need to respawn ? they did the fort or even if they stole it from you,
holding the key is like holding a treasure, What is the difference between the key and the Stronghold Stuff ? would you get mad if someone stole it from you and you think it should respawn ? No, cause it doesnt make any sense, same with the Key. you can lose it its not like its go to your inventory .

  • @internal-cannon like sitting at a fort for 30 minutes for the door to open when you didn’t do anything to earn it isn’t a cheap tactic???

  • People that take the fort key are already in danger of getting moved instances and losing their fort loot, I don't know why you want to handicap people even further than they already are when they need to deal with people's free-for-all shenanigans
