There is currently a MASSIVE problem with the player reporting system and has been for a little while now! I have tried to report numerous players in the past free months for things like cheating, highly offensive ship names, exceedingly toxic behavior, and all manner of other things that ruin this wonderful game for legitimate, upstanding players like myself. An in game report only yields a response stating more information is needed WITH NO WAY TO PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION??? Then, when attempting a web report thru the game and scanning the provided QR, logging into the website, the website IS DOWN AND NOT FUNCTIONING- has said for a long time, probably months, the team is working on it and will have it back up ASAP. Same result upon logging into SOT’s webpage to raise a support ticket. But the real root of the problem is the new “12 points punishment system” or whatever you’ve implemented recently. That only further allows players with ill intent to get away with it. All this makes it seem like you’re simply protecting cheaters, and toxic players . It’s a HUGE problem when players go unpunished for things like racist ship and pet names, cheating in and out of competitive play, exploiting mechanics of the game to gain unfair advantages, and just being toxic in general. It absolutely is ruining the game and it feels a whole lot like you just simply don’t care. You can’t even be bothered to fix problems and issues that have been in the game for years. Tonight I encountered a player in solo sloop hourglass who had wedged his sloop, into the opening of a sea fortress with his mast down so it couldn’t be moved, had the fortress as massive cover from cannon fire, had eliminated all potential threats (kegs) from the fort, and used cannons on the fort not affected by waves to win the fight. This player used almost every cheap trick in the book. What’s more is he has both gold PvP curses already, and im still trying to get to level 100 to get mine. He’s clearly been getting away with this for some time and was toxic about it when confronted, stating he’s been reported MANY times before. He should be permanently banned from the game, not get a slap on the wrist. Why is it so difficult for you to protect those of us that are actually trying to play the game as you intended? We we really need to see more and better effort from you. I have recorded clips, and screenshots to back up this experience, but they’re worthless because IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO SUBMIT ANY PROOF TO YOU! Rare, im BEGGING you, PLEASE for the love of god, FIX YOUR GAME!!! [Mod Edit] And please fix the reporting system so we can actually use it to help you protect the experience you’ve worked so hard to create!

I have used the website for reporting just a few weeks ago and it was working. Could it be an issue on your end, perhaps check your status here: https://www.seaofthieves.com/account . Or check allow cookies &c.

AFAIK if people get points, they get also yellowbearded (not sure regarding names and such as that would result in removing their ability of changing names).

They have been working on removing ships get stuck in shallow waters and not sinking; guess you'll have to report this issue - hopefully it will get fixed soon.

It’s not really “toxic” to do what the player did. Having ship stuck in a place. That poor sportsmanship at best and him telling you they been banned before, could be a out right lie just to poke fun at you for saying “im reporting you”
No report should be a short and simple. Need to treat it like a resume.

@burnbacon Rare makes this game. Everything happens on their servers. They can censor your chat messages but for some reason have no way to store them in the event of a report.
