Every single time I try to launch Sea of Thieves through Battle.net, I get treated like I’m trying to access top-secret military files. Despite having Xbox signed in and running on my PC at all times, the game insists on dragging me through a security circus.
First, I enter my password. Then it sends a code to my phone — okay, annoying but fine. Then it demands another code sent to my secondary email, just to launch a game where I pretend to be a drunken pirate stealing imaginary gold. I mean… seriously?
Is this really necessary? For Sea of Thieves? Is someone out there trying to hack into my account so they can steal my virtual banana stash? Or is this just Blizzard’s signature “user experience,” where nothing ever works smoothly, and common sense went out the window years ago?
Honestly, for a company of Blizzard’s size — you'd expect some level of competence. Instead, it feels like they're actively competing to make everything as painful and backwards as possible. Well done, truly. Nailed it.
