I tried to play a voyage on safer seas, It wouldn't let me, locked out. Yet on high seas mode it's unlocked. Why? I want to play stories, voyages without potential of loosing chest, keys etc.
I played for hours on high seas because I had no choice, Boat is sunk by reapers who steal chest. Second attempt, I buried the chest, buried the keys so I can gather them all together near the end. Whilst under water in the shrine, I acquire third key and boat sunk. Maps lost. Sail to Island and can't dig them up. Respawn was furthest away possible. Due to no save check points, hours of gaming lost. Why are maps bound to the ship, it doesn't make sense.
Proposal: maps are bound to players avatar rather than the ship.
We have maps on our wheel. This insinuates the maps our on our person. If you're playing by yourself, there is no point burying the treasure if someone jumps on your boat and steals them. Who would leave their maps behind to invite sstealing. No sane pirate would. Perhaps, alternatively a pirate could acquire a snap sack, to carry maps, keys etc. Extra dynamic to the game.
