I haven't been playing SOT for long period of time but have noticed that the mega loot stash was the best thing that happend to this game for a very long time after seeing some of the videos shared from the past. I will say that we NEED more loot for how hard we must grind for these forts and missions. I honestly believe this games loot is NOT worth the literal HOURS OF REAL TIME spent trying to not only gain it but fend off the other pirates or even the kraken. I literally just got through grinding for over 2 hrs real time for less than 100k in loot just to be defeated by a squid. The amount of loot for this grind is absolutely not worth the amount of effort it takes to keep it. Please fix this.
The Grind
I mean, it's only worth it to those who want to complete it. If you don't feel it's worth it, no one is forcing you to do or complete anything. It's like when I completed turning in the 300 barnacle chests. I didn't grind only for the chests, I told myself I'd eventually have them and to play normally. It'll happen eventually.

Grind? What grind.
Everytime they add something that requires a little bit of time to earn. They nerf it into the ground so the little pirates unlock everything within weeks after release.Can’t think of one thing that is grind able anymore
@fbmb5992 When you say you haven't been playing long, have you bought your own ship and purchased emissary licenses? This will open up new options to balance your risk and rewards (allowing you to earn greater rewards by putting yourself at greater risk). If you're not there yet, I would suggest using social media to join a guild and find some people who can take you on high level (high risk, high reward) adventures to earn enough gold for these early steps.
@fbmb5992 a lot of the value in this game is purely psychological. Mega stash was fun because it is not commonplace. They make every fort like that and players demand higher payouts because its the norm.
If you plan to stick around you won't be worrying about gold.2 days old account asking the devs to change core game mechanics,
that he does not yet fully understand ... hehe
@FBMB5992 If it takes 2 hours of your time to clear a few forts
and then you get attacked by the kraken ... maybe first learn how to play.None of us started out as a perfect pirate.
We all got sunk. Often. I mean a lot. Almost each session.You have to learn step by step.
The game can be fun. Stay in it. Learn. Enjoy.

Were you solo? Did anything else spawn?
Were you being chased? Low on planks or supplies? First time fighting the kraken??So many things to ask and consider….the kraken vs a solo sloop and nothing else is in the way.
It super easy to defeat.
