I'm new, but I quickly realized that for solo play the sloop is the way to go, brigantine is manageable but hard, galleon is for masochists. It would be nice if the medium and larger ships could receive something, anything, to make them a little easier to manage. The cozy and large captains cabin is too good to pass, and I hear there's a massive ship one can get that comes with its own crew, maybe something similar can be done for the galleon?
Please Make Solo Galleon More Manageable
Larger ships are inherently designed for larger crews. They are not meant to be easy for a full crew, let alone solo.
Larger ships purposefully require communication and teamwork to sail effectively.
Sloops are designed with solo or duo crews in mind, everything is closer together, faster to raise sails/anchor etc.
@vorpalicious
The Galleon is already incredibly strong, if you make it easier to manage as a solo, then it's gonna be way easier for 4-man crews to control it and it's already by far the strongest ship if you have a half-decent crew to play with.
If you really wanna play on a bigger ship by yourself for whatever reason you might have, then do the Brig
@vorpalicious
When I was new to the game, I launched a galleon myself to see if I could sail it myself. What a nightmare to do as a solo. The anchor took forever to raise, I couldn't angle 3 sails all the time, I was constantly running back and forth to raise/lower the sails and steer. After just 10mins of doing this, I gave up and stuck to sloops.
How on earth you're asking about soloing a galleon is beyond me.@vorpalicious said in Please Make Solo Galleon More Manageable:
Because they look cool, like actual pirate ships and the more I play -- the more I wish some things could be better if going solo. Even pulling the anchor takes like a full minute.
And then you will be sunk because it's too hard to handle. Maybe recruit a regular crew so you can do bigger ships.
Brig and Galleon won't be changed to catter for solo players.

@vorpalicious ahoy there matey and welcome to Sea of Thieves!
The galleon is indeed not easy to manage as a solo.
No chance to win any PvP battles on a solo galleon.
Even some of the PvE encounters will get you sunk then. ^^Others have already said it:
Go and find yourself a crew and make some friends.
This game is so much more fun, when played with a regular crew.Do not wait for the devs to change the galleon for solo play: it will not happen.
So if you really enjoy the looks and customizations of the galleon,
your best chance is to look for players around your age and try
to find people that also play, when you have time to play most. :-)cheers and enjoy your time out on the seas!
