Hello
i had an idea recently. If i'm playing for like 3 hours or something and its dinner time or like for cooking it, or having to deal with something else, it would be great to be able to have a break. For now i and my crewmate we just drive to the edge of the map and hide the ship whatever size it is behind a big rock for like an hour or something.
it would be really great if we could vote for a dive. so like on the captains table to take a break-dive until we vote to dive up again. we wouldnt take a place on the server like hiding behind a rock, i guess. we could vote for diving up and still would have our supplies from those 3 hours playtime before.
this would be a really great feature for me ... because i have kids and yes, i like food from time to time. :-)
Greetings
I used to do this as well. I’d go to the store or make food or both while my ship sat idle somewhere. I call this being “‘married to your supplies” and it’s something I’ve learned to divorce over time. I find that being married to your supplies is overall negative in SoT; for one, you’ll be more disappointed when you sink, even though all you lost was a bunch of sups you’d likely never use; for two, one feels inclined to hide their boat in order to preserve their supplies while they eat, this would also include some kind of key sequence to avoid getting a lazybeard.
I’m not against your idea, but I think that in the meantime you should consider divorcing your supplies. They aren’t important. How often do you need 600 cannon balls in a a fight? Are those 30 pineapples really important? I think you’ll find some peace of mind if you just log off and get new cannon balls upon your return. I know I did. Not to mention that your computer could likely use a break after a long session. Do your computer/console a solid and let that thing cool off for a bit.
I always try to convince my crew mates to not change their play style simply because they have a lot of supplies. We do HG a lot, and occasionally someone might say something like “do we really want to do HG” with all these supplies? Sometimes people decide they don’t want to do a certain thing (like log off or something risky) because they like their supplies too much. Kick the supply habit!
