Rare should stop adding some content for a bit and just fix their servers cause it is getting really out of hand it is not playable anymore it keep crashing every 5 minute or less and the fact that everywhere i look i never saw them mention anything about it which is crazy i wonder if they realize their game is broken for the love of god fix the issue

Just because you haven’t seen an announcement or watched the videos doesn’t mean they haven’t been talking about things. Rare have been talking a lot and have been VERY transparent, apologetic and informative about everything they need to be.
They have acknowledged issues exist and have dedicated a full team specifically on improving the game/bug fixes/hitreg etc.
As for “five minute” crashes…
You should really contact rare support directly and ask them for help, it sounds like an issue your end.Nothing fixes this.
I updated my nvidia drivers,
I set them to DirectX 11 since I have an older computer and it used to work flawlessly and synced that in the settings
I turned down the graphics to bare minimum.Nothing fixes this issue.
I still can log in, load a raid, submerge and re-emerge,
and crash before I can dock at the fortress.So pretty much a 3-minute crash time every time.
PS5 has major issues in regards to crashing too. For me and all of my friends on PS5 the game freezes at least twice per session and by freeze I mean it requires a force quit.
I’ve tried contacting rare support and have yet to receive an answer. This issue is major and really makes the game unplayable
I have kinda 'weird' solution but worked out for me and I didn't get a single crash since i stopped doing one thing in game...
If you do, STOP walking on harpoon's line.
My game was crashing in random moments, wasn't able to play and was about to quit the game, despite having ~2000 hours. Then I saw some reddit advice and it worked! Might work out for you too, try using the harpoon just for grabbing loot and taking sharp turns, not for walking on line :)
Interesting… what platform are you on? Also, are you crashing or does the game freeze for you?
@scastie playing on steam version, reddit users told that it's working out on ps5 version as well.
My game was freezing and sending me back to desktop, so I had to re-enable it. Was asking for checking files corruption that I've done several times and no problems found. I've tried repairing game files, reinstalling the game, reinstalling the video drivers. Nothing helped.
Refusing to walk on harpoon line helped.
@scastie Definitely give back a report! I would like to know if there are many people that have issue with walking on line :D
So I had a clean session with a friend but the next session I entered with two friends and the game froze before we even exited the tavern. I’m afraid in my case it’s not a rope issue…
Meanwhile when I'm playing with some friends, they can use the rope without any problems. So seems that some people have problems with walking on the rope, it just feels completely random who has such an issue.

So what ended up happening is that two of us got frozen and crashed twice each and we asked our third friend to scuttle to a new server before rejoining. After that we had a clean session. Maybe it has something to do with some of the servers?
I know I'm desperate to find a pattern here. My last 2 crashes happened just as i approached an island. It may have been when the island banner was supposed to display, or when I got to the point where the island needed to spawn something for me to interact with. Right about "that" moment.....you know the one.
I was going to test my latest hope of a pattern, but alas I crashed just as I was turning off those banners.
I really want to know what the heck is happening???? It is clear mt gaming is timing out for some reason. Why oh why am I getting kicked off the servers at the 3-minute (or close to) mark every time???
For those desperate for any clues to why their PC is crashing every couple minutes.... I don't know if RARE changed anything these past 11 days, but today I just happened to change my monitor from its vertical alignment back to a horizontal alignment. On a whim, I decided to see if SoT would work. So I went in and changed the settings FROM windowed TO Fullscreen. Lo and behold, I seem to have a stable game again. So, I suspect playing in a manually sized Windowed Mode screen might have been the issue???????
Fingers crossed. So far I just played a 30 minute session without issues. Remember I could not get past 3 minutes before.
