Additional plunder pass tiers every month.

  • Seasons in Sea of Thieves are LONG, very long. We progress the season quickly even without trying, just playing the game regularly and you can complete the season in under a couple weeks, a few days if you’re really trying.

I suggest adding 25 tiers each month in between seasons, this will give players something to look forward to and something to draw players in each month, we all know how Rare loves the fomo.

This should get us a grand total of about 175 tiers, which would give dedicated players rewards for completing all tiers.

  • It depends on the way the "extra rewards" are presented. In games like fortnite the extra battle pass rewards are just recolors that show dedication through a season. We could have like an extra variant of each seasonal costume but it depends on the time needed to reach those.

However, I would prefer an extra ancient coins stash for each 10 levels you get until you reach lvl 200 on the season. It would give you a little income for your dedication so you can spend it on some of the cosmetics they add each month to the emporium. The total ammount you extra get could be like 300 ancient coins, so you can buy only a few items without needing to spend money on the game or save it to buy the next seasonal pass.

  • Anyone else feel like plunder pass weeklies are 10x harder than usual this season?

Seems like progression was already slowed.

  • No thanks pass progression is fine as it is.

  • @bun-e-hopps That’s your opinion, can you explain why this applies to everyone?

  • I'm a casual pirate and I want to keep it that way.

There are plenty of grinds in the game and some I know I may never complete that the enthusiast rightfully will (and enjoy the fruit of that labor), so I don't see a good reason to include the seasonal plunder pass which is a very passive progression system.

Same question for you...you said: "We progress the season quickly even without trying, just playing the game regularly..."

There are casuals out there, who aren't that fast and the pass is there so everyone can enjoy it

  • @schwammlgott What I said does apply to everyone who plays regularly, you progress through the season quickly regardless if you’re grinding out trials or not.

If it takes you 3 months to complete a plunder pass you literally have to be only playing 10 minutes per day. The extra tiers won’t affect you in any way so why would you be against it? More content for everyone to enjoy seems like a win win.

  • @tommycutlass So because you have other things to grind for rather than seasonal items you think they shouldn’t add the extra tiers for people who do want to grind the seasonal content?

I struggle to make sense of some of the responses, because, no offense, most sound selfish, replying by catering to only their wants and needs and without the overall community in mind.

If you have a good reason why this would not be a good thing I am here to listen and take in your thoughts and maybe adjust my position, but as long as it’s an I or Me or Myself I can’t get behind it as you’re limiting yourself to only your opinion and not taking into consideration everyone else.

Not everyone is lucky. Have you ever seen the posts of players who only have few min or couple hours a week to play? And “complain” about missing out on certain items?

These extra tiers would only benefit the small %

  • @schwammlgott even people who don't play very often can finish the pass within a month with ease. All you need to do is grind out the sea forts. in the beginning, 1 sea fort is an easy 10-12 pass levels. beyond that you might be looking at 2-3 sea forts for a few levels on top of just basic deeds that you randomly complete just by playing. For those hardcore players who play for hours on end, we complete it within a week tops. I've hit pass level 80 in 2 days. we need something extra whether it be more gold/doubloon pouches, or extra ancient coin bundles ever so often. Doesnt even have to be a crazy amount. 5 AC for 10-20 levels maybe. something to compensate. give us a reason to do the daily's, weeklies, give us a reason to do all these deeds other than bonus xp to the pass, because until they do, it's useless to go out of your way to do deeds.

  • I doubt Rare is going to increase cosmetic output to fill out an additional 25 tiers every month, if that's what you're looking for, but if you just want each tier to award gold or doubloons so that you can satisfy your compulsion to make bars go up then I don't see a problem with it.

  • We've been through almost 10 seasons, and still ONLY TWO PL rewards. WHYYY. There should at least be 4 rewards, minimum. Also, is extra tiers that continuously award gold and doubloons too much to ask? Maybe even more clothing cosmetics, just to give me something to want to earn. The entire premise of the game is to earn cosmetics, and yet, they rarely update the clothing store with good outfits, and if we do get one, its literally one set. I would rather have more, cooler recolors than this. Also, are the weapons from season 8 going to be available again, or are those considered exclusive to that season, like tattoos and scars.

  • Need to fight that compulsion.

Nothing is less satisfying than watching a bar go up. It isn't content and it isn't progress.

I don't personally like ideas like this. I think progression is just fine.

SoT is a casual funny pirate sandbox game.

We aren't meant to blitz right to the end and then complain we have nothing to do.

So all I "have to do"...well...what if I want to do what I want to do? Am I allowed to? I don't concentrate on season levels, still I'm pretty early done with it

And again you talk for everyone, even if you can't...stop that! It's fine as it is so REALLY EVERYONE can enjoy it

  • @tek-lt

If you're bored playing sea of thieves, extending the season pass grind is not the solution.

Funny, we could say the exact same thing about YOUR request - selfish, catering to YOUR wants, not having the overall community in mind (shutting out casual players) and frankly sounding entitled.

  • @dlchief58 How does additional tiers affect players who only spend a couple hours per week on the game?

It’s not selfish to want the community to have more to earn, it’s selfish to say the community doesn’t need it just because you don’t have time to complete it.

  • @tek-lt It is telling that you can't even see his point, even though you already say what the problem is.

When you say "just because you don’t have time to complete it" you already acknowledge you are asking for something that is only catered towards you and not to most (casual) players. You are asking something special for you, what most will not get. That is his point, you are asking for something exclusive.

  • I think a lot of you are misunderstanding so let’s change the context.

Let’s say we are all at a party, and the caterers serve up 100 plates of food, we all eat, but after we’re done most of us are still hungry, so one of us suggests that next party let’s serve up 175 plates of food so that we know everyone can be satisfied, but then 5 of the people who got full bellies speaks up and says NO we had plenty to eat so the rest of you must also be satisfied and we should stick to 100 plates.

In this scenario who is being selfish? Who is in the wrong? Would it affect the 5 who were satisfied if next time 175 plates were served? If we serve up 175 plates next party then we know that the majority of the party goers will have plenty to eat.

So, adding additional tiers will not negatively affect anyone so there’s no harm. But we can disagree just to be disagreeing.

  • @tek-lt That comparison is just false, since in your comparison that rest doesn't want more food, but for the season pass the rest would want the extra stuff and they just wouldn't get it. It would only create FOMO for the majority.

And it's not like you can't earn money and doubloons ingame or something like that... So if you want more of that, just get it there.

  • @schwammlgott thats exactly the point. You dont have to actually concentrate on doing the pass, it just completes itself. So why not give us a reason to actually go further and complete deeds? give us something if we complete deeds. Give us a reason to go out of our way to do them.

  • @super87ghost FOMO is real and I understand your position, what I don’t agree with is saying if I can’t have something nobody else can.

They bring plunder pass items back to the game, just think of the pirate legend curse, not only that but if they added additional tiers it’d likely only be fillers like gold and doubloons and maybe titles. I think a special cosmetic for those who do reach the final tier is needed for the dedication.

Progressing through the plunder pass is just fast and easy, especially when you’re also completing deeds, so I don’t see any reason any casual SoT player wouldn’t complete the pass within 3 months. I play SoT a couple hours per day and completed the pass in just over a week and I don’t complete most of the trials so that shows that even 30 minutes per day will get you there in a months time vs the 3-4 month plunder pass duration.

  • Aye! Seeing how adventures are not as frequent anymore too. Either that or make it "slower" to reach 100. It's far too easy, I found myself completing the pass in 3 days this season.
