I'm sure you're all aware of the specific file I'm talking about; engine.ini. Why is this considered a "game file"? Even modifying settings in there for the purpose of boosting your FPS is considered "modifying game files" and it being "against TOS" is always backed up by the same misused quote from the Microsoft Service Agreement:
"You agree that you will not attempt to modify any Digital Goods obtained through any of the Services for any reason whatsoever, including for the purpose of disguising or changing ownership or source of the Digital Goods. Microsoft or the owners of the Digital Goods may, from time to time, remove Digital Goods from the Services without notice."
Engine.Ini. Is. Not. A. Game. File. - It is an Unreal Engine configuration file. I want to know why the engineering team at Rare is not having a conversation with the Deckhands/CS team about what is a game file that is not property of Rare or Microsoft and not bound by anything in the Microsoft/Xbox/SoT Terms of Services and what is a configuration file that can be edited at any time by people using their PC for whatever reason they want to.
Thoughts...?
