Lower game difficulty based on ship type.

  • I have started to LOATHE other pirates due to their inability to read maps, use the wheel correctly, stat on point and ABANDONING THE SHIP DURING COMBAT. But that isn't the problem. I could just play alone right? WRONG. Let's take the new, fort of fortune. It is absolutely doable on a solo sloop, but there is a catch. It's going to take you a LOOOONG time, with other pirates being a common nuisance. This would be much better to handle if the events difficulty scaled down to what ship your on.

  • @wickedlystrange but what if another ship comes along? Does it remain super easy for them?

Unfortunately this is a simple case of solo = hard mode. Game was originally designed to be played as a crew, and there are plenty of options out there for you to find players looking to do the same content you are, such as xbox LFG or the official discord channel.

  • @wickedlystrange the kind of balance you are aiming for is only possible for emergent threats and voted on voyages. Both of these are triggered on or activated by their ship type.

World events are global and therefore have to work for the largest possible group (4 man galleon) that would attempt them. They need to be of enough time that it makes it a risk that other crews will come to fight over it.

  • World events are for everyone and are part of not only the interaction and combat formula but a big part of the risk reward system of the game

You already have people like me doing ashen winds and fleets solo very efficiently. 1. it's not realistic to scale down difficulty in a shared environment 2. If it were, my type would just farm with little risk for maximum reward in a short amount of time which goes against the entire point of the shared environment

There are a lot of things to do now. People aren't entitled to world events either they are worth the risk and time or not to a person and either they can be done efficiently or they can't.

If you don't like open crew and events are too time consuming go make a lot of money doing something else as there is plenty of content now that allows it.

As much as I love profiting off ashen winds I think that was nerf'd too much already. It started out too time consuming for the loot that was offered but now it's way too easy for the buffed loot. I solo them a lot if they are on mermaids, cannon cove, wanderers, or devils
Easy to kill alone and easy to load up in those locations when killing the boss in a good spot for the loot drop. Not enough risk for the reward solo as it is and add in another 2-3 players and it's just too easy

Fleets can literally be completed without firing a shot by letting them sink themselves on rocks which is a common solo method.
and because of how fleets are designed it's not uncommon to show up to a fleet while it's on boss wave just from people sailing by and triggering it and sinking a ship or two or the skellies sink themselves after getting triggered.
Many fleets I've shown up to solo and only had to finish off the boss.

There are very few reasons to do forts anymore unless you just enjoy doing them. Their loot just isn't significant anymore. As a solo you can just knock out a few skelly sloops sailing around and get a lucky but not super rare ancient bonedust and stronghold skull/chest from a meg and you just made more with far less risk and frustration as a solo.

Megs have the most interesting RNG in the game. If you get a good draw you can get the mini fort drop which is a stronghold skull ancient bone and stronghold chest in one drop and megs are easy to kill on a sloop and common to find.
My personal record is 4 ancient bone dusts on double gold weekend during gold rush with a reaper 5. As a solo megs can be a big deal especially with how few resources are needed for a solo spawn

  • I solo sloop and would prefer if the pve was even more difficult. the kraken and Meg are too easy.

  • Ship difficulty is already a thing but doesn’t effect forts and I believe ashen lords.

Only Megs, skeleton ships, flame heart event, Fleet event and I believe the golden shores final boss.

Doesn’t affect forts because, anyone can roll up and sink you. Thus they become the new attackers. Or a alliance of solo sloops :/

  • I think it would be neat if the strenght of Worldevents would be different in relation to crew seize.
After all PvP is definitely not balanced about crew size. ;)

And since people have watched experienced PvPers like Summit1G, Pace22 & HitboTC for years now, ultimately we have more and more people in the game who are confident enough to sneak in on you and be a nuisance. =)

  • @treefittymonsta sagte in Lower game difficulty based on ship type.:

He does talk about the cloud-based events, like fort, fort of fortune, ashen lord...
