Back in the day, when the game first came out forts were the only world event, and after completing one it would take hours for a new one to pop up. This lead to everyone flocking to the fort when it appeared, and I kinda miss that.
As it currently is, once a world event is completed or times out, it takes about 5 minutes for the Kraken to do it's thing, and then a new one is up. And it makes you wonder why bother doing the current world event when you can just wait for the next one? Don't want to take that fight with the crew already at the fort? Just wait, a new event will be up soon. I don't really see lots of crews fighting over world events anymore, and I miss that. So I'd like to see world events have a break time of roughly 30 minutes. Just to make them a bit rarer, but not too long that you'll never see one.
Also, people with tons of gold and already got their commendations need a reason to come back to these events. I think the simplest way is just by adding some new cosmetics tied behind some grindy commendations. Sort of the like the Burning Blade sails, but harder. Full ship set for 100 skeleton fleets, full clothing set for 100 forts, that sorta thing. Goals that will come naturally by playing the game, not something you hop into a session and go 'right, I'm getting this commendation done'. Give people a reason to go do events.
