I was on the receiving end of this spawn camping/double gunning. That's part of the game, that's fine. The guy is clearly double gunning and was being a [mod edited], naturally my teammate and I were getting pretty mad. I just wanted to ask the community if the double gunning in this instance is in fact cheating with macros/scripting or is he just using an exploit? I was under the impression that double gunning required much more movement and took a little bit longer than this. He never sprints, just instantly switches to his secondary and fires. [mod edited] Is he using macros or just using an exploit? I do want to add that the guy edited the video down a lot to favor his argument that he wasn't cheating or using macros. He also went through all this trouble to try and prove he isn't cheating by making and editing a video. Once we were locked into a spawn camp, we decided to take the fun from them and just not talk or even move. He just sat there killing afk players for 8 to 10 mins all while talking smack and being toxic. But hey, that's how it goes sometimes, I get it. Not here to complain, just want to know what you guys think. Thanks.

@x-verk-x There is absolutely nothing in this video that falls under cheating and they are not using a macro.. you can actually fire quicker than that btw.. they have very well timed shots and you ran in a straight line.. not too hard to shoot you twice.. but I agree they seem very childish and very bad winners.. not "toxic"

I didn't think it was possible to fire quicker until my crew had a run-in with Summit1G a few days ago where he was pulling off the instant Double Gun 1-shot. Sunk him in the end, but still crazy to see that BS still out in the wild.
EDIT: Reviewed a couple of times, and it appears as though it was a single shot Blunder at an extended range then a swap to EoR which made it appear as though it was a double shot. The range was well out of 1-shot kill, but the servers are wonky sometimes.

How about someone using the quick dig "exploit" you could say that people who use that are cheating in Arena 😅

I know originally you could simply weapon swap instantly, but it has been patched over and over. The only way to do this for a while now has been to sprint cancel, which still caused a half second delay.
Since then, I have not seen an instant shot like this.

That PC framerate! I switch weapons normally on my XB1X with an SSD and the animation never even comes close to completing that fast!
Did he kill you through the ship at the end of the video?
I noticed that he aims with the 1st shot (EoR), but then hip fires with the 2nd (flintlock) since he already has you dialed in.
Props to him for knowing where the spawn points are and forcing your movement into narrow spaces like on the front of the ship. Smart.
@x-VerK-x I believe that under no circumstances should you be able to use two guns. A sword and one gun should be it. In saying this I have never had it used against me and have not used it myself. I will say to quick aim or no scope and be on target does take some skill yet being able to double gun gives too much advantage to a player because it's extremely hard to defend against when the enemy is spawn camping. To me, if a player can fight with a gun and sword and kill me over and over they earn utmost respect from me for being that good and I've had that happen yet the players I've seen do that either sink the ship and go about their way or do it just long enought to take supplies. This video seemed to me to just be 2 people that didn't care about winning as much as they did ruining someone's game experience and enjoying doing it. That I don't agree with. This is just my opinion though.
Just tested the timing myself - without cheating, the speed at which he fires is doable. It took me about 5 minutes of practice nailing it though, and I imagine it would take a lot more practice to hit a moving target while under pressure. So again, props to your assassin.
Just a quick tip: it's harder for them to spawn camp you if your ship is on fire. 😉😅
I know both those players they are not cheaters. The fast shooting is the sprint cancel exploit easily done by anyone without a macro (kinda surprised you don't know of the exploit by now like everyone uses it.) btw that wasn't an attack on you I am just genuinely surprised is all. Also shot through the hull ? that's called wall banging and you can easily perform that as well as anyone can in game. You can shoot through the hull,walls,masts, and other parts of the ship. I am not here to hardcore defend anyone tbh (as I don't think it's really needed) just giving you some insight on in game mechanics. Hopefully that helps you understand what is happening on the other end though :) as it's very very rare to see cheaters in this game it's just sometimes people are in that mentality because they don't understand the in game mechanics.
@knut-skallagrim They have clarified that it is unintended and unwanted. Hopefully, it will be removed/mitigated properly soon.

Been playing this game along time and rarely come across people like this but it happens, I know. Getting locked in a spawn camp on a sloop in arena is so hard to get out of. We should have scuttled but we were to frustrated to even remember it was an option because we never scuttle.
We did manage to kill them a few times and turn the tables. They were good shots, not going to take anything from them in that regard.
Looking back, I wish I would have handled the situation differently but I was salty from the toxicity and arogance. Again, he edited out A LOT of his toxicness and he actually went through a lot of trouble to make the video and personally message it to me with a nice, rude note attached. The guy is just a narcissistic jerk, he has to live with it. =)

Your friends are cheats plain and simple@gravekingbishop it's not really that simple no. It is so widespread that if RARE went on a ban spree they'd literally kill off so many players lol... This exploit was nipped in the bud so many times yet it returns, it's been here a long time. Also look I don't want it in the game either... tbh I really don't like it and with the removal of other exploits that took place with sword I think it deserves to be removed as well. Also I wouldn't say those players are my "friends" I just know of them and know they don't cheat using any kind of 3rd party software to gain advantages, if you want to deem the exploit as an actual cheat by all means do that. I am not here to argue in the end I think we both want it removed from the game to help create a better playing experience for all :).
@gravekingbishop no they do not ban for using it where did you hear that ? cause I can confirm 100% that they do NOT ban people using it. I agree it is an exploit but the definition or view of it being a cheat is not even clear...Either way I acknowledge it is used to gain an advantage. Would also like to point out it's extremely easy to just do at times even if you don't mean to because it ties to sprint. Again I agree that it indeed needs to be removed and that I myself do not particularly like it but don't spread false info of it being a bannable offense when it's clearly not. Heck Summit showcased it on his streams to the masses lol....Did it RIGHT infront of the devs when he sailed with em.

In fact, I am completely willing to send the whole footage to you so you can report any part with which I was being "toxic." Didn't your buddy make it a point to call me "lowlife" lol I never said anything nearly that rude. I make it a point to not be toxic and to treat everyone with respect. I edited some bits out for instance when you almost sunk us because it was completely irrelevant with no voice coms, just me talking to my crewmate in discord which is not relevant to anything said towards you.
@blazedashelll I know. I think we should just F ban everybody. I mean its not like Rare doesn't know about all these things. Just easier to ban everyone. Start with me. I double gun, double chest, double shovel and double ballet on occasion and the other 3 things I figured out that I don't share.
We can discuss whether it is reportable or not, but there are several things that should be solved.
- Be it an exploit, glitch or whatever, the double shot must be finished. For me, adding one more edge weapon (daggers, ax, etc.) and not allow two guns.
- Shoot through the walls.
- As @x-VerK-x will be able to defend himself, if every time he appeared they were aiming to shoot him. 🤷🏻♂️
- It is not the case, but I play with 200 ping while from what I see, you with 60! it doesn't seem fair.

Well. If Rare recognices it as a bug, it is cheating.
Rare made an update where explicity they removed the hability to double shooting in a short time. So yeah, do a combination of keys, not by a mistake, to be able of double shooting in less time than the intended by the devs, obviously it is abusing from a bug, it is not an intended feature, you are cheating, and you can be banned.
