Hey everyone I’m going to explain how to Adventure PVP without being a Troll!
- Skin in the game! You got to have skin in the game! Treasure!
The first thing I do is Hit an Active Skull Fort and some shipwrecks/barrels on the way to the Skull Fort. I need supplies. Cannon Balls, Planks and Gun Powder! But I need Treasure to decorate the boat!
No one is going to be upset if they get wrecked by a boat covered in treasure and glowing skulls. If anything they should Be excited about respawning and finding you!
This Treasure isn’t for selling. This is the reward someone gets for defeating me!
99% of the time I have more to lose attacking you than I do to gain!
Try not to engage in PVP if you don’t have any skin in the game. That’s lame! (Unless your out for revenge that’s ok).
-
The Crew ~ it’s hard to find a Crew on board with this. I recommend the LFG Tool on XBOX so everyone knows what they are joining and the expectations. Nothing more annoying than someone taking my Skulls down and putting them in the Captains Quarters and demanding to go sell right as we get skin in the game! Best doing PL only as they normally don’t need the money and are just looking for fun.
-
Reapers - I like to collect all 4 and keep them on the boat! Again, What fun is PVP if you got nothing to lose? No risk, no reward and again this is to reward those who also engage in world PVP. This will also help them find you on the map so they can plan their revenge accordingly.
By now you should have stopped for a Skull Fort or two. About 6 sets of floating barrels and should have plenty of supplies to fend off 2-4 other Player ships.
Reapers flag can also be fun but you will lose the element of Surprise and ships will just avoid you so in my experience Reapers Flag leads to less PVP.
-
Spawn Killing - Completely unacceptable UNLESS you are so short on supplies it is necessary to spawn kill a Sloop for example while you liberate their Wood and Cannon Balls. Once done Stop Spawn Killing them! Sink them or sail away.
-
Tall Tales - if you sink someone and they message you for their Quest item leave it somewhere for them or give it back!
-
When the crew decides as a majority it’s time to call it a night Then you can go sell all your treasure and stuff!
As insane and crazy as this sounds this play style will lead to more laughs and memorable nights than any other! It usually ends with a huge amount of profit as well and you will sleep like a baby knowing you PVP’ed like a Real man and not some sniveling coward in a sloop with 15 wood and 25 cannon balls.
Worst case scenario: We get sunk! Oh noes who cares I’m already rich and have all the cosmetics I want. We had a great time but you know what the best part is? The guy that sunk us (most likely someone we’ve sunk 1-3 times) had the BEST night ever as he engaged in world PVP. Sunk another player and got a TON of loot for it! So even though we may not have ended the way I planned I know we gave whoever sank us one of the best most memorable nights they will ever have playing SOT’s!
