@capt-gnashmaw As i said his VAST loyal crew brought him the gold. It's like if you watch One Piece how White beard had all those captains. THEY brought HIM the gold.

@hidrapond how do they feel that they helped a streamer get to Legendary?? I imagine pretty good or they wouldnt of did it. There was just as much chance that people could had spawn camped him to stop him but they didnt.

@hidrapond it's called Work Smarter not Harder. If they don't do it it's on them you shouldn't push what you think is morally right on to others. We are pirates in this game what gets the job done is what works... That worked and it got the job done. It's not cheating it's using your resources. Which in this case is other pirates who were willing to share their loot.

Let ye without sin cast the first stone. I mean, for real. He's a popular streamer with a good sized community who came to him to help him out. If I had a community willing to help me out I would jump at the chance, and so would most of you.

@capt-gnashmaw how so?? If he would of put in the forums "Hey looking for people to bring me loot" would that of made it any better?? I read a post not to long ago where someone was put in the brig when she joined a team. They did all the missions which and she got the rep and gold from it being in the brig.... Is this any different?? Shes doing no work but getting all the reward. Those on the ship are basically bringing her the loot.

@darthbelan personally, I wouldn't, because it ruins the fun of the game. When I reach Pirate Legend, I want it to be because I worked hard to get there, not because I joined every time someone had loot for me to cash in and hop out afterwards.

@hidrapond the difference here is HE is not "using them" in the sense of a Social ladder. THEY are helping him THEY lifted him up on their shoulders to push him to the top. He thanks them he likes them. Without them watching his streams and donating to him he knows he would be up poo creak... they people who you hate are the people who Manipulate others to climb that ladder. That was not done in this case.

I’m just excited to see what’s behind the Legendary curtain. Will it be life-changing or just the same ole fetch quests that we all know and love lol please someone become Legend fast so we can all peek behind the curtain! “Tell him what he’s won Johnny!” ... “A braaand neewww ... peg leg!” Lol

@capt-gnashmaw right and i am of the same mind set. I am in no rush what so ever to reach legendary and i probably wont b/c i dont think ill even do merchant missions unless i find a random crate of [mod edit] to turn in to them. It doesn't however change that fact that just b/c his way of going about it was different doesn't mean Rare should reset his levels or ban him as i saw some suggest

@ball-o-cheese I'm not saying reset or ban. Just... Rare says they want to immortalize their players that do big things. If they immortalize this guy, they better immortalize his whole community too because he probably would not have done it on his own in time to be the first.

@capt-gnashmaw but you fail to see that he did do a big thing. Open your eyes and see that in a game of pirates where it's every man/crew for him/her self... He brought a [mod edit] ton of people together for one common goal... Albeit a seemingly selfish one he still brought a part of the community together

@ball-o-cheese Exactlt! There’s no reason to rush - there’s nothing there at the end. Just play and enjoy the parts of the game that you have the most fun with. I remember people requesting fishing and a Rare dev said they don’t think fishing was part of the pirate life ... but chasing chickens and pigs was? lol the more they let us do in this beautiful world the more fun we’ll all have.

like i mean i get it if they ever add SOME type of actual progression in the future. but as the game stands now? effects me and my game exactly zero

boosting is really only a thing that applies if you are "boosting" somewhere. this game offers nowhere to "boost" to....... i'm boosting to - more gold?.. for more cosmetics that don't affect mine or anyone's actual gameplay?

and i'm pretty sure that's not frowned upon in any game so long as its using an existing mechanic. and even then, if whatever is being farmed offers no in game advantage then its even less of a problem”

@ball-o-cheese I'm not saying he didn't do a big thing, only that he didn't do it alone. My issue with the original post was only that Ball O Cheese claimed what he did was the same as using Looking For Crew to find people to play with.

@spyderhat Hell i think they should add fishing. Pirates needed to eat why wouldnt they fish for the food. In a game like this i think if you want to sit on the side of the boat and fish you should be allowed to. If they were smart about it they would add a system similar to Final Fantasy xiv where you can catch large whatevers in the water and have it go on a record book to see who can catch the biggest whatever. Getting better rods catch you better fish with a chance of catching a Kraken that murders your face hole (hilarious!). Start naming the seas as well and each sea has different fish... Why would this NOT be a thing

@ball-o-cheese good point he did bring people together. Maybe not even that selfish - the sooner somebody gets Legend the sooner we all see what that unlocks so we all win. Hopefully it’s something amazing - but probably not lol

@ball-o-cheese just imagine you get a huge cage from merchants and tug it behind your ship! Catch a shark, a whale, whatever, and tug it back to port. Would be cool as hell can still be stolen by others or eaten by other sharks or the kraken.

@mantonx2 his ideal of "Spirit of the game" and yours are completely different b/c yall dont have the same game play goals. His spirit of the game was to bring his community together and get them involved and he did

@mantonx2 nah i stopped streaming games ages ago. Plus me streaming this game would be boring as all buck b/c i am a solo player. But yes i will keep telling myself that b/c it's true. What i think is the spirit of the game is not what you think I'm sure of that.
