PLS we need more than 2 weapon slots...!!!!!!

  • 2 slots are enough. You can already find ammo crates in forts, I'm sure in the future we'll be able to recover bullets on islands or to bring an ammo chest with us. We'll also have more weapons to choose from, so things will get more interesting.
I know for a solo player it's difficult to fight skellies, but solo play is the hardest mode of the game and fights against skellies could be exploited with some tactics (kiting, boom boom barrels, shooting from the ship, etc...). Solo play is all about being creative.

  • We don't need more then two. What we need is the skeletons that have weapons to drop ammo. Then it will balance up as the ship already has an ammo restock place.

  • @haristain I was talking in general. Not targeted to you except for the fort part. Also I've never had an ammunition issue. I used my guns wisely and waged what skeletons were worth killing. Does anyone not realize they run super slow?? I always use pistol and blunder, if I ran out of ammo, I ran out of dodge.

  • In that case then, we don't NEED any guns, we could just play the whole game with the cutlass.

Just saying they are in the game, if you have ammo drops for guns, you might as well have infinite ammo. I consider the guns a one time use in panic situations. Otherwise I use my cutlass all the way.

  • @haristain no we don't.

  • @ikari-pabz trust me dude i can hit skellies all the way this is not my problem i just find the sword play kind of akward and trying to doge like a chicken is not the greatest expirience for me

  • I think 3 would work well if they add more weapons in . I suspect there will be at least one or two variants on the melee weaponry. So I think taking three out of 6 weapons (3 melee 3 range) that would be fair. I agree it could become annoying when trying to take on skeleton forts with five bullets. I also agree its nice to have more pvp sword and WAY less sniping all day. I dont think I ran into a single sniper which is annoying and super hard to use anyway on the seas.

I was sword and blunderbuss, but I feel like if they had some other good melee weapons I may go double melee. My friend said he will back me up with double guns. So if they leave it at two I won't be disappointed.

  • @revanjstone they are gonna add more waepons so choosing will still be impactfull...i just thing we need a litle more firepower

  • maybe 2 guns and a sword but more than that gets silly.

  • @haristain Eww the sword play mechanics are horrendous right now. I'm sure they're working the kinks out, but I deliberately used two guns and no sword because the sword just got me killed when the clunky sword mechanics didn't allow me to block and attack smoothly without constantly taking damage.

  • @ikari-pabz i agree but look every one likes the sword here. its a pirate game the most iconic pirate thing is the cutlass.....and i dont agree with 2 firearms no sword gameplan dude if you run out you are just useless so a mellee will be crucial

  • No, we don't need more weapon slots (--_--)
I was positively surprised that I couldn't carry more then 2 weapons at the time during the Scale Test, that forces the players to not just go full ham with first the eye of reach, then the flintlock, and finally the blunderbuss... only to use the cutlass in "no more amo, lol!" situations.. and those situations usually don't last too long in my experience. If I was making a pirate game I would certainly want to force the players to pick a strategic play-style to compliment the rest of their crew and not let them go all "hey we all have both the cutlass, the blunderbuss AND the eye of reach, so that's exactly what everyone must carry around to counter us!" 2 slots is fine for pvp.
When it comes to the solo play and the pve, if you're an experienced pirate you'll find a way to defeat any group of skeletons with only 2 weapons and whatever you can find on the island.. and it warns you that solo play is only for experienced pirates before you set sail alone. Deal with it.

  • @haristain Deep down, I didn't like the fact I was useless when all my ammunition was expended. It would be cool to see a firearm melee, low on damage but can shove enemies back a bit or something. Now, I don't disagree with a sabre or cutlass being iconic to early nautical lore, however, for the sake of the game, it shouldn't have to be mandatory, but chosen if one wished. I'd rather use a blunder and pistol, have the range advantage over a player who prefers a sword and pistol, which has infinite utility even after complete ammo expenditure. It's a "chose your poison" mechanic that keeps the game balanced. Not equal.

  • no we don't. see ya.

  • @laurond i never said i had problems in solo played in the whole scale test i never died once from skellies...The islands can be cleared just with your sword mate. iam worried that in the whole game that will have more enemy times having only 1 or 2 guns will ruin the expirence coz you will run all the time thats not stategic at all and staying on the ship with the eye of reach is not my go to plan either

  • I think it's an interesting way to be more tactical in the choice of weapons to situations .
And you get to think about your position in your crew before you in a combat situation .
This two weapons slots is a great idea to reinforce the team play and increase the solo tactical play .

  • @vorticalmoney7 you can still do that if the game has more weapon choices

  • I love the limitation of having to pick 2. Keep it as it is, IMO.

  • It's also a very clever mechanic to level out the playing field with PvP and PvE players...

Not going to go into the benefits and problems it causes here as we have a dedicated mega thread but it stops the hunter mentality if you only have a certain number of bullets on an island while chasing another teams crew down.

  • i think making it 3 is the magic number ti helps pvp and pve

  • What about playing solo - get more slots and playing with company get less slots

  • @haristain not really because if one person has access to all weapons this me you do not need to rely on your crew mates, so you go wonder by yourself and die, instead having them for example covering you with the sniper rifle or take down a strong enemy with the shotgun while you clean lesser enemies.
If you ever play Overwatch you know having different well defined scales in an organise team is a straight .

  • @vorticalmoney7 ok i see your point i still belive that a locked mellee and 2 firearms will be better'

  • @danger-rocks solo players are EXPERIENCE players no one starting the game should start solo please this is a big advise .

So two slots require more planing and I'm not having any troubles with this , just know what's around you before you leave your sloop (has always) than keep an eye regularly and on the island plan your weapons accordingly to your need of the time.

  • @vorticalmoney7 some ppl dont like playing witha crew of 4 even if they are new. many times you get dumbed in the brig happend to me before and i wasnt even talking

  • @vorticalmoney7 me personaly i didnt have a problem no but other folks might have in the long run

  • Did anyone see if the upgraded weapons did more damage or if a better shovel required less digging for chests?

  • @vorticalmoney7 I get what your saying I’ve played solo for months and don’t have big issue with 2 slots but what if a new player wants to play or try solo, not everyone wants the company 😁

  • @oni2anza no the do the same dmg

  • @danger-rocks yeah man i know :)

  • I really liked how it was on the previous beta. there was more room for weapons. I hope to add an item for expansion slots . 3 enough

  • And what will be your next request? Automatic healing? Infinite ammo? I don't like these kind of posts from casual people who just want an easy game. I, and many others, like challange and proper dose of realism.

Game about pirates shouln't be a shooter , we have enough of those. When you run out of bullets you just fight with a sword. Nothing wrong with that - it enriches gameplay and gives proper pirate atmosphere.

  • well i personally really want to see 3 weapon slots, but if i can't have that and they stick with 2 i would like for them to increase the ammo size of the guns to 7 instead of 5

  • @dennis-box said in PLS we need more than 2 weapon slots...!!!!!!:

2 Weaponslots (firearms) and the sword as an obligatory weapon would be nice in my opinion.

    This makes sense to me.

  • @tolkien2 why the game will be easier? if the opponent has the same) Enough 3 slots
