All the Customary Fun in Season 20 Community Weekend on June 26th
So soon! The gate is still swinging on its hinges from the escape of Season 20, pirates are busy testing the waters of Custom Seas and already we’re here dangling the carrot of another Community Weekend. What can we say? It’s never too soon.
Rewards and Recognition
Kicking off on Friday, June 26th at 10am UTC, Season 20’s Community Weekend will once again run for the new extended duration of 72 hours, coming to a close at the same time on Monday, June 29th. The simple act of setting sail on High Seas while this Event is live, whether you have grand plans to execute or you’re just there to soak up the vibes, will earn you the latest Community Weekend Flag and free Hitchhike Emote. Hitch a lift to the nearest Merchant Alliance rep where you can also claim a Community Spirit Firework Crate, which’ll come in handy for adding emphasis to whatever you get up to in the hours ahead.
There are other rewards too, but they’ll take a little more effort to accomplish. The Meridian Hunter Eye of Reach is obtainable through your choice of two Event Goals: either complete a target number of World Events or spend time in a Custom Seas game with a Sea of Thieves Partner (see the Directory so you know who to look for). The Meridian Hunter Cutlass is also within reach this weekend: this prize requires a team effort, and can only be unlocked by the combined community completing an ambitious number of World Events. If this Community Spirit Goal is achieved, everyone who takes part will be granted the reward for their efforts.
Don’t Cross the Streams
Well, you can if you want. What’s important is that you spend some time tuning in to streamers in Twitch’s Sea of Thieves category this weekend, as it’s the total overall viewing time that powers the in-game Community Emissary Grade. And what does that do? Why, it boosts the amount of gold, reputation, Seasonal Renown, Allegiance and Guild Reputation awarded to all players while Community Weekend is active, up to two-and-a-half times the usual rate if it’s pushed all the way to Grade 5!
Note that you’ll need to be sailing on High Seas to take advantage of these boosts (and to make the most of Community Weekend as a whole). Note also that Twitch Drops including some Gilded Phoenix headliners will be in play as another incentive to swing by and support some streamers, so make sure you have your Twitch and Sea of Thieves accounts linked and ready!
Pinpoint the Plunder
We know you’ll be hovering over Sea of Thieves social channels this weekend, awaiting those juicy Pop-Up Plunder delicacies, so far be it from us to hold them back. Check in every few hours for the next clue, solve the mystery of the dig site and get there before another crew on your server beats you to it, because once it’s gone, it’s gone! There’s also a one-hour timer before any undiscovered Pop-Up Plunder returns to the ether, so get on the trail and unearth it while you can.
Anyway, Here’s a Wonder Wall
The most iconic visual of a Community Weekend is of course the Picture Wall, a celebratory stage erected at each Outpost for the purpose of crew poses and commemorative pictures. The Picture Wall at The Reaper’s Hideout is a more recent addition, but those masked malcontents seem to be tolerating it – and for Season 20 there are even more in the mix, set up at Legendary Locations in Custom Seas. Get over there and lock in some shots at Old Sailor Isle, the Damned Sea Dog Tavern and even Tribute Peak!
Long Hat Summer
But let’s not forget the real reason for Community Weekend: sharing and enjoying not only that sense of community spirit, but the raft of celebratory endeavours that players always put into motion. The most inventive or joyful of these may well see their creators in the running for the Hat of Unfeasibly Glorious Fame, so be sure to tag us on Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky or Twitter/X with anything you’re up to, using the #BeMorePirate tag to make doubly sure we see it.
Weekend Getaway
It’s almost here already, so start making plans! Don’t forget those dates: Friday, June 26th to Monday, June 29th, starting and ending at 10am UTC. Hopefully the three-day duration means as many of you as possible get some time on the seas before Community Weekend closes for another Season. While you’re out there gallivanting around, remember to share some of your most memorable Picture Wall moments, custom creations and chaotic clips. We look forward to another Weekend in your company!
