Lots of content ideas

    • More customisation: More textures on outfits and some cheaper outfits and ship customisations to bridge the progression gaps. Even just some simple colour variants and texture changes would add a lot and be easy to implement but particularly for ships. Why can't we just have a simple block colour sail to start off with and work our way up to all the fancy symbols. We need wheel customisations, cannon customisations, maybe more styalised woodwork for us to save up for to make our ships really stand out not just to those looking at us but those of us on the ship viewing it up close and personal.
    • More ships! I love playing a sloop with 2 players and Galleon with 4 players but I dislike playing a Galleon with a random or 3 of us. I would love there to be a 3 man ship like a Caravel style ship with distinctive triangular sails. I'd also like bigger ships for when I have 5+ friends like Frigates or Man O Wars. Also throwing it out there: 1 man ship like a Shallop for players who just want to PVE and move super fast.
    • More variety in loot: All loot is basically the same. I play a lot of D&D and some interesting puzzles me and my players have had in pirate adventures is 'how do we get X to Y' and having some different loot sizes like heavy loot that slows you down more or lighter loot that doesn't impact movement too much (and allows you to use 1h weapons) or loot thats just a pile of coins and you need to fill a chest/bag yourself or maybe you could put like x3 cursed skulls in an empty chest (maybe add mimics as a trap) to make it easier to carry. Loot that also takes two+ people to carry would add some more dynamics to transporting loot which goes into my next two points...
    • Rowing boats: I feel that taking a smaller boat from your ship to an island is missing. Rowing boats could help transport a set amount of loot and make parking a bit easier with large ships (and funnier when you steal an enemy rowing boat) but also adds more options for loot like before e.g. you could transport larger loot like a giant totem that takes multiple players working together to pick up an item and a rowing boat to haul to a ship. This will make later mechanics like fishing more dynamic as well...
    • More wildlife and loot linked to wildlife: Whale, Piranhas, Squid, Octopus, Dolphin and Shark hunting where you kill the shark and haul its carcase back to your boat on a rowing boat and have it just hanging there looking b****s till you get back to port to sell it $$$. This could be done with loads of animals like Wales which was a fun part of AC4 and could also be linked into unlocking new cosmetics. You could also try to collect smaller animals with nets or fishing rods like Fish, Crabs and Lobsters. But not just sea animals; land animals. Maybe on some islands theirs bears, tigers, Jaguars to hunt or even more rare jungle/mythological/extinct creatures like Sirens, Merfolk, Dinosaurs (maybe), Medusas or other undead creatures not just skeletons like 'drowned ones' or seaweed monsters.
    • Pearls, Coconuts, maybe introduce more food with healing like Mutton and cooking mechanics
    • VooDoo. Not sure how to implement it exactly but VooDoo has always been a staple in pirate pop culture. Maybe introduce an alchemical component for it.
    • Pets: I know pets are coming and I hope this brings Parrots into the game but maybe add some mechanics for pets. In FarCry Primal you use an Owl to scope out a map and I feel this might be something fun to do when on a large island or on your ship.
    • More Raids: Ancient temples filled with traps, forgotten cursed Ziggurats in jungles, lost ancient civilisations in the depths of the ocean (Atlantis e.g.). The Cthulhu Mythos has a lot of ties to the ocean as well.
    • Merchant Guild revamp/addon: The merchants guild seems to be the least engaging faction to me. Which is a shame because on paper I would want to engage with this faction the most. When I hear merchants guild I don't think 'yeah go look for some chickens on any island' I think 'here is a bunch of Cargo! take it to the Outpost by this time on the other side of the map and you will be rewarded' As much as I like collecting animals for them I think the merchants guild should be more about transporting goods over large distances to meet demand of the other outposts and collecting animals should be more to do with a whole new faction e.g. The Big Game Club which could be all about hunting and capturing different animals/monsters once theirs more in the game.
    • MORE BOSSES: I love the Kraken but I think it needs to evolve more. e.g. more stages in the battle and it needs to be more hostile towards the ship. Other boss ideas could include: 'Moby D**k' a giant whale that attacks your ship (maybe its so big it eats sloops Pinocchio style?), Giant Crab, a giant snake for on land or maybe even a giant sea snake, The colossal squid!, Megladon!, Davey Jones ghost ship! full of those deadly accurate skeletons as his crew, Sirens and Harpies, Hydras etc.
    • More instruments and more equipment and more progression. I know that its set in stone now that the progression has to be horizontal. But I do think there should be more equipment like rope, fishing rods, nets, bags, empty chests etc. and force players to choose what they take so 1 player can't have everything and force the players to work together a bit more. Maybe offer the players specialisations giving them unique abilities that not all pirates have (these could all still be available from the get-go) such as explosives, ranges, melee, VooDoo or even non-combat specialisations as well like Fishing, Cooking, Dungeoneering, etc.
    • More weapons: Cutlass is great and the signature weapon of pirates but maybe some players want to use a slower heavy mace, hammer or two-handed sword that hits for more in an AOE possibly but attacks slower or use a dagger that attacks quicker but does less damage. Maybe for cannons, we could have different cannonballs such as a chain shot that wrecks the masts of a ship rather than the hull or introduce the option to replace cannons with ballista's that do less damage to a ship but can be equipped with flaming bolts that cause the ship to catch fire or chained bolts that can be used to chain two ships together preventing them from escaping each other. Other ideas could include Moltovs, Small Bombs, Crossbows, Bows, Blowguns and other ways to salvage and implement poison from all the lush fauna (and snakes) in the island's jungles. Mayber add different types of alcohol and allow it to give the player some statistical bonuses like damage reduction when drunk.
    • PVP quests: If a group of players are really doing well at taking down the enemies maybe they get marked on the ship's map with a bounty for the other players to hunt them down. Likewise, adding onto the merchants guild revamp suggested maybe their's a 'smuggling/black market variant' where the players are given some especially valuable illegal cargo that will give them a large sum of gold after delivery but also marks them out on the ship map for other players to hunt them down and sell the goods themselves.... you know... because we're all thieves and pirates.
    • PVP changes: PVP can be really fun. Though I really get frustrated when I'm just in a turning battle with another ship for like an hour. Maybe I need to get better at the game but some more ship weapon customisations to make combat more versatile and dynamic like a ballista on the front or a FIRE BREATHING DRAGON FIGUREHEAD! might be a good addition.
    • More complexity in hidden treasure and environmental dangers: These chests have been hidden by people who really don't want it to be stolen. Let us have some arrow traps, poison needle traps, closing walls and falling boulders (if you don't replace the loot with sand of equal weight), quicksand, whirlpools, tornados in storms, strikes of lightning that actually start fires, extream heat, glaring sun.
    • More types of ship damage: holes are great but what about if your sails have a whole in and need patching, what about when a cannonball miraculously hits your mast or if your ship caught fire from a strike of lightning.
    • Spawn changes: This isn't content but it's not very rewarding when you sink a ship and they just come back to fight again in about 15 minutes and you just end up in an eternal battle around one island. When you respawn with a new ship your voyages should fail and you should spawn on the other side of the map.
    • PC Xbox app sucks: Not content I know, but I really struggle to even get into a game with my friends because of this, I rarely get achievements (because they don't work not just because I suck), the notifications don't seem to work for me, and it seems overly complicated having to go through windows and external apps on PC just to play with friends or adjust microphone settings.

-Different types of enemies (not just different types of skeletons)
-Different types of quests (fetch quests for 3 factions can only go so far)
    -Different types of weapons
    -Different types of ship customization
-Ship perks (shotgun/flamethrower/water cannons, different hulls to increase speed/maneuverability/durability/ramming potential)
-Different items to collect to actually incentivize exploring an island
-PvP system to incentivize PvP aside from just the chance they may have a chest on board
-Clothing set perks (increased resistance to swords or bullets, increased dmg with ____ weapon, faster running speed with items, increased reload speed on cannons/guns, increased damage with cannons, increased speed on turning the wheel/sails or raising the anchor)

    ^Heres some of my ideas

  • all that and Tubas please.

  • @jockjammer1 I would love a tuba so much

  • Having a team of four on 2 different sloops would also be cool

  • I'd like to see a mermaid village underwater somewhere. Also a very rare randomly spawning mirage island not on the map with decently rare loot that only has a chance to appear after a decent amount of play time on a server (to prevent hopping).
