What Is the Bilge Rats Weekender?
The Bilge Rat Weekender is a recurring celebratory Live Event, with a focus on earning (and spending) Doubloons under a refreshed currency system. With offerings including unique Voyages and themed Challenges, alongside community-minded moments such as Firework Displays, these Weekenders whip up regular opportunities to get your hands on exclusive items while celebrating the spectacle and variety of life on the Sea of Thieves.
Spending Your Doubloons
Two additional markets are open for business during the Bilge Rats Weekender, dedicated to items purchasable with Doubloons. The first, the Bilge Rats Black Market, hosts returning items from Seasons gone by and is of course run by Larinna, relocating to a cosy seat inside the nearest Outpost tavern. The second new shopping option is the Smugglers’ Market. Even getting to browse this one will require pirates to track down the elusive Duke, but the hunt will be worth it for the rare items he offers...
Voyages
During the Bilge Rats Weekender, pirates will be able to explore two new Voyages – a Smugglers’ Doubloon Run and a Recovery of a Secret Shipment – carrying the potential of loot so rare that The Smugglers’ League are willing to trade Doubloons for them, and perhaps even a cosmetic or two!
Challenges
The Bilge Rats have always revelled in challenging pirates to perform incredible feats, and that spirit lives on in this Event. During the Weekender, fulfilling the Bilge Rats’ daring feats on demand will see those pirates with an adventurous spirit rewarded with a bounty of Doubloons.
Festival of
Fishing
Bilge Rats Weekenders also serve as an opportunity to revisit popular Events from the past, and this time, it’s the Festival of Fishing! Not content with offering double gold and reputation for fish delivered to them and briefly bestowing a free Emissary Flag, The Hunter’s Call are once again handing out two limited Voyages: Merrick’s Recipe Request and A Hunter’s Rare Fishing Map.
These angling-focused activities will not only grant you a moment’s calm amidst all the celebratory chaos, but being tied to the Weekender means they’re a great way to gather up even more Doubloons.
