This Month in Sea of Thieves: March 2026
Another month, another This Month in Sea of Thieves article! There’s absolutely loads going on this March, including game updates, charity drives, anniversary celebrations, Community Weekend and more, so let’s skip the preamble and just get right to it. Yes? Yes.
Sea of Thieves Season 18: Act 3 – Thursday, March 5th
Keen-eyed readers may note that this article highlights two monthly updates happening in March, with the first being the long-awaited arrival of Ashen Garrisons! Freshly polished up and ready to go, they’re now available to seek out in-game along with Act 3’s other improvements and adjustments, from March 5th.
This new Act will also introduce another selection of Deeds to be completed in return for Renown and the exclusive Ashen Garrison Sails. The shortened Act means you have two weeks to work on that completion, so don’t delay!
Noble Pathfinder Flag – Thursday, March 5th – Thursday, March 12th
If you hadn’t heard, Sea of Thieves has been raising money for GameBlast26 to help support the incredible efforts of gamers’ charity SpecialEffect. Players have been able to purchase time-limited bundles of Obsidian items, as well as picking up the charity-exclusive Noble Pathfinder Sails from the Pirate Emporium. Now, from March 5th, players will have a one-week opportunity to also purchase the previously unreleased Noble Pathfinder Flag, with proceeds going towards enabling physically disabled gamers to keep playing the games they love.
Twitch Drops – Friday, March 6th – Friday, March 13th
March is also home to two rounds of Twitch Drops, with the first arriving immediately following the Act 3 update. Viewers who tune into their favoured Sea of Thieves Partner between March 6th and 13th can walk away with a haul of rewards, including the Enigmatic Clap Emote, Gilded Phoenix Lantern, Lunar Festival Blunderbuss and newly unveiled Amethyst Mercenary Hull.
Season 18 Style of Thieves – Monday, March 9th – Thursday, March 12th
Get your costumes ready – the Season 18 edition of Style of Thieves is right around the corner! As always, pirates will be able to submit their chosen ensembles for each of four themes using the #StyleOfThieves tag on social media, all to be in with the chance of winning the stylish Fashionista’s Finery Gloves. Sea of Thieves Season 19: Act 1 – Thursday, March 19th
Our second major game update of the month kicks off the start of Season 19! Focusing on a whole suite of improvements to Faction Battles entered through the Hourglass of Fate, this first Act will see the seas heating up with cannon fire. A fresh selection of Seasonal Deeds and rewards will also be on offer to players exploring the new content, with many more changes and additions to come in Acts 2 and 3. Look out for the full launch article later this month!
The beginning of Season 19 will also introduce a range of commemorative cosmetics to purchase with your Doubloons before the currency reset takes place in April. Depending on the size of your stash, you’ll be able to secure the Doubloon Hoarder Title, Eyepatch, Belt, Sails and Cutlass from Larinna – but remember, they’ll only be available until April 16th, so get your hands on them while you can.
Eighth Anniversary Celebrations – from Thursday, March 19th
Sea of Thieves is turning eight years old! Alongside the launch of Season 19, players can claim a selection of free Golden Sailor and Lustrous Legend cosmetics via login bonuses, Xbox Game Pass In-Game Benefits, Microsoft Rewards and more, while a Free Play Weekend is also inbound – perfect for inviting those historically hesitant sailors among your friends and family onto your crew at last. The anniversary theme will even feed into our Community Weekend at the end of the month! Twitch Drops – Friday, March 27th – Tuesday, March 31st
Season 19 Community Weekend will, as always, feature a shared Community Emissary Grade that can be raised by watching your favourite Sea of Thieves streamers on Twitch, but that’s not the only benefit. March’s second set of Twitch Drops – these ones open to being offered by any Sea of Thieves streamer in addition to Partners – will let you get your hands on a range of rewards including but not limited to the Speak No Evil Emote, Lionfish Sails and Pistol, Gilded Phoenix Hurdy-Gurdy and the illustrious, highly coveted Eastern Winds Ruby Pirate Title. All in, not a weekend to miss out on!
