I do still think that there could be a different way of setting up the Emote Wheel that would technically net more Slots without having to feel overwhelming so much.
On your First Wheel you would present some categories. On the back end, different kinds of Emotes should be tagged with these Categories depending on the Emote. Since there are 8 Slots on the Wheel, we could have 8 Categories (though I would use 7 and a special one as you'll see). As an example that probably needs work:
- Favorites: This sub page could be like our present Emote Wheel in that you can select 8 Emotes yourself to populate on the Page from any of the 7 Categories.
- Greet: This sub page would accept various Make Friends and Wave Emote variants.
- Celebrate: This sub page would accept various Weapon Pose, Cheer, and Clap Emote variants.
- Relax: This sub page would accept various Sit and Sleep Emote variants.
- Games: This sub page would accept various Coin, Dagger Trick, and Dice Emote variants.
- Sneak: This sub page would accept the various Hide Emote variants that we have.
Would need to more Groupings, and I'm not at the game right now to look over what other Emote types I'm missing here to bunch up, but I think this is enough to give a general idea of what I'm trying to convey.
Using something like this, all Emotes are an equal distance away (hover over a Category, press a Button to Select it, hover over desired Emote) and it gives us technically 3 more Pages than what we have now all while not being too cumbersome. As an added benefit, by grouping the Emotes into Categories it means we can better organize the Emotes in general. I think this would be a far cry better than the system that we have right now.
