My Steam shows I've played the game for 30 minutes; however, I've been stuck by the mission of connecting to the server and it keeps telling me I'm "lavenderbeared". Anyone experienced this problem as well? or anyone know how should I resolve it? I've tried many methods online but it just won't work.

I have this exact same issue, Steam shows played for 3 hours and every time i launch and click on 'Start Game' i get the 'lavenderbeared' error straight away. Yet I have zero issues playing the window's 10 version, i only get this via Steam.
Signing in and out of xbox live and verifying files makes no difference. The only thing i haven't done is uninstall and re-install the game which doesn't seem like the right way to get around this considering the windows 10 version still works.
Anyone else resolve this?

lol please disregard i realised that be signed in to either the windows or steam version at any one time and not both, the lavenderbeard error typically means the servers are down but non the less i fixed the issue.
