Sure but why should it be so difficult to change the pirate?

I dont understand the problem and i dont care if people like to change it for whatever reason.

Though I do think that having a paid option in the store to reroll your pirate would be a good thing.

Yet, your friend should be at peace and comfortable with themselves, the avatar is just an alter ego at most. She shouldn't need to feel uncomfortable with the fact that her video games character is Male or Female. It is just a visualization of a pirate she plays. It does not reflect anything about the person's real life gender or status. I am a Male and play a female character, yet I am no less Male because of it. The same applies to her.

So, no it is not Rare placing any barriers towards the transgender community in regards to being themselves, it is just a limitation in the game that once a pirate is born they can no longer be altered. There are a bunch of reasons to want to alter your pirates looks, so a single time gender change is not something I can stand behind.
