Does anyone have any tips on how to defeat the ruby mermaid solo?

@ursistersturd this is the most underrated approach. Put a piece of loot right over the statue so you know where to shoot

Can confirm. Tried it with 5 in shallow water, worked like a charm. But if they spawn too deep you're just out of luck mate, no one way for one player to inflict the necessary damage beyond a certain depth.

Yeah, I have to agree here. Considering you can find rubies just sitting on the beach or bobbing with flotsam, it's not really worth the trouble to try to crack a statue.
