I pre-ordered and paid off Sea of Thieves (ready for pickup on 3.20) and I joined the 'insider' program - how do I prove that I pre-ordered the game to be elligible for beta participation (if there is another one)?

They should given you a code for the Black Dog Pack that you can reedem in the Microsoft Store, but I don't think that you need that anymore if you wish to play the beta you just have to be an insider.Right now we don't know when the next Scale Test will be, you have to wait until they announce it.

www.support.seaofthieves.com@ironuzuka Thanks for the link - but I still don't understand how I can be selected if all I have is a receipt from Gamestop that shows I preordered the physical copy - I am a bit confused by that? Is it not needed, just the install on XB1?
@gjustinj Maybe ye should check directly with Gamestop for they sold you the copy. I would start here.
For AIE purchased me copy from the mighty (pricy?) MicrosoftStore.Maybe there is a key on yer receipt that can open ye way to the Sea of Thieves early access content.
Bein' an Xbox Insider alone also be granting ye the access to the early adventures! For all the information is well hidden in my previous correspondence to ye!
After having issues as well, AIE did not lose hope for the calling to the sea was near! Many people werrre having 'em problems. But we as a crew stood together even when all hope seemed lost. Ye can follow some of our adventures here:

I did go and dl the insider hub and downloading the beta now. So if/when they do another one this will give me access? :)

The pre-order from this point onwards does not guarantee you access to the beta, however all Xbox Insiders were granted access to the last stress test via their Xbox Insider Hub (The method you are now using) so in future you too will probably be able to access the game (stress test and future beta) automatically via the download you are now doing.
@musicmee Fine news for AIE did not realise 'em pre-orders were not granted access anymore. Thank you for yer update!

Can confirm. My friend joined me on the stress test without pre-order because he joined Xbox Insider.
@ironuzuka No worries :D The preordered only guaranteed access to a closed beta in January. But as @xCALYPT0x verified for me, the fact of being an Xbox Insider does give you access to the beta version of the game when it is avaliable (for now just the scale test so far).
