These days I log into SoT maybe twice a year. I started playing a few months before they introduced Safer Seas and was super excited for it since actually playing on High Seas is near impossible. Between the outrageous cheaters, the sweats who have 1000+ hours and the constant harassment of other bored players you're lucky to be able to complete a merchant voyage (no emissary), without being chased. It's pretty obvious that players do not respect the 'code of conduct' and intentionally go after new or low reward crews just because they have nothing better to do. Every game should have a mode to play that is accessible to all and there is genuinely 0 reason to not provide this.
Players said adding Safer Seas would kill the game... it was dying regardless.
My Suggestions?
- Separate Gold, Reputation, Stats & Ships from High Seas & Safer Seas (if people actually care about Safer Seas getting it "too easy")
- Add private lobbies for Safer Seas so people can actually enjoy the game and prevent cheaters from ruining their server.
- Uncap and reenable all of the content that has been removed from Safer Seas. Players shouldn't miss out on gameplay just because they don't cheat and/or spend thousands of hours sweating the game.
- Allow players to invite other friendly crews to their Safer Seas session (this one will rile some people up, statistics don't matter the game is dying let people have some fun).
So many games have these PvE features regardless of what the game is about. For example, GTA5 has private servers. Just because a GAME is about committing crimes and being a pirate doesn't mean that people should be prevented from enjoying it any which way that they choose.
I've been saying this for years now but I seriously cannot wait until they make this game playable & enjoyable again.
