Most people have said similar.. Just click the tab and close window.
So, what's the point in any of it then? Clearly no one wants to be subjected to watching it, that's evident from what's written.
I have been looking at streamer numbers on this game now and then for a few years now, since the delusion became apparent that these people were needed to make a game succeed. And considering millions play this game and only a small handful of thousands watch people playing this game. I'll leave that there. The numbers speak volumes.
The game, and all games will be fine without them. And i would much rather earn content from a game by playing it, rather than do something non game related to earn rewards.
The numbers Rare releases are a clever marketing trick, and they know it. They release total player numbers but they include anyone who's installed the game on Game Pass and tried it once. (This is how we get the lie of "only 3% of players play Arena")
You simply lack the data analysis skills to see that streamers have been a net positive for the game. Sea of Thieves has always occupied a much larger space on Twitch than games of similar size, because the game lends itself very well to being streamed content. Way more people play Fortnite than the amount of people who watch Fortnite content, but that doesn't mean that content creators haven't helped Fortnite's rise to becoming the most popular game around (or League of Legends before it).
Plenty of people enjoy the Twitch communities that have sprung up around this game. Pace regularly gets 5k+ viewers, Boxy gets 2k+, many other streamers get between 2k and 100.
Twitch drops give streamers the opportunity to grow their communities and their livelihoods. If you want the drops, it's very easy, but the one thing you have to give a qualifying streamer a view for a short amount of time; it's completely free.
Stop complaining and insulting streamers. Nobody's forcing you to claim free items, and you'll survive if you miss them. You're just acting like a big baby.
