@xshirahx i still hope that foundation can be shanken if the commiunity wishes it. not saying that this IS what the community wants, but i hope Rare is open for it, if it is one day wished for the return of such items by a certain majority of active players.
Time-limited/unavailable skins
Well, imo one should not need to support a game design if it is considered bad, unhealthy or simply considered unattractive by a big majority.
Also not everyone had a realistic chance at doing arena, but they may have the chance now.
Dont you think its just as much to ask if you put it behind hourglass. We need items past lvl 200 hourglass anyway.
The cosmetics existance is also a diversity denial for those who cant unlock it, wich i am not a fan of.

that would completely ruin it for the veterans who already have it and it just made their old cosmetic devoid of any of its exclusivity
The only thing is would ruin is a false sense of pixel ego.
Also catering to your veteran players at the expense of your new players is a great way to end up with no players.
Also bailing on “those” players whom have built the foundation that we all currently play on is a good way to end up with no players. Rare cosmetics and ship decorations are a fun way to flex. Not EVERYTHING should be available to EVERYONE. If you didn’t log on then or were not playing then you don’t get it. I think this is a healthy thing. There are lots I’ve missed out on that I’d love, buuuuuut I wasn’t there when they were or o just didn’t grind it. That’s on me
It'd be cool to have the banana sails, the oreo sails, etc. But i made my peace with not aquiring every item in the game and making them time limited is what makes them unique vs having them always available or available again. Example oreo sails, everyone not on european continent rushed to get vpn and connect to European countries just to get them, and for what so they can display them once and never again?
I get it everyone has the right to display whatever they want but if you just want things for the sake of having them then removing the time limited aspect would make no sense.Meanwhile RARE decided to shove more cosmetics I don't want/need with anniversary changes.
It just reinforces further we need an option to get rid of the cosmetics, and I mean all of them, not select few.
But is like talking to a wall, for an update marketed as QoL, little is being done to actually listen to the player feedback as always.
There is no sane reason as to why I can't sell the trash I been gathering over the course of 4 years, and honestly have no interest in using.
Why this matters? Takes 5 minutes to go over all the trash to actually find what I want.
@wujuwarrior1375 It would be better to ask for new stuff. I'm looking at it this way I haven't even started Servants or Guardians yet because it looks like the most fun to get out of it is a duo sloop and I exclusively ran on a galleon almost the entirety of time I played the game and as now what you guys call helm. So it's a pretty big change what I'm going to have to get use to just returning to the game after a long while not playing it.
Dont get me wrong, they can make new ones as an equvalent. But the new legendary weapons looked alienating. the deep blue almost royal color was swapped with a trashy green. And black chains arent exactly as shiny. They could have done reverse colors or swap out smaller details, so it would remain as stellar as the rest of the set. That is a better option if they want to swap them out. Giving veterans stellar options while leaving the rest with the budget stuff, idk. I get that we have 240 wins arena, but leaving others without an option to put effort in is rough.

So? They'll get over it and not everyone has time to dedicate to this games grind. Some of us have demanding jobs on tops of family matters.
@wujuwarrior1375 how many times did they change the legendary weapons. As it show on the wiki the blunderbuss has a gold chain wrapped around it and on the game itself has a darker chain wrapped around and the one I bought has chrome chains and is titled as the Golden Legendary Blunderbuss it's also the only legend weapon I've bought.
edit. I also own the Golden Legendary sails, haul and figurehead but does anyone honestly sails around with this stuff on. I found it says these were given to people who were pirate legends before March 20th 2019. Have those not come back to the game?
Golden legendary blunderbuss is part of the 6 items you got from 1st year Pirate legend. U have a mug and a hurdy aswell. Sadly these has not been obtainable since. I love these cosmetics, but we couldnt get the ball rolling before the start of 2020. I tried to persuade the others to give it some extra tries during cursed sails, but the difficulty of the game was not attractive to the others. I envy you, cuz the items looks amazing. I found it devastating to be a step behind in a sense, even after getting the dark adventurer stuff. Rare is also making sure to rub it in by using the shipset in trailers instead of the ordinary one.
The one with the black chains was added after arena closed as a replacement. U can earn them by leveling athena rep. The one with golden chains was the arena earneble one, that also matches the rest of the set. The one with chrome/silver chains is the golden one from year one. Only the blunderbuss has a golden variant.
@tempusaspect A counter argument to "veteran" players, is why do you NEED to feel special? If a new player is willing to do the work for that old content they should be allowed to EARN it. Just because some people had the privilege to play at a certain point in time while others could not, shouldn't bar them from being able to enjoy those experiences. New players earning Merrick drums and OG bone crusher outfits is going to have ZERO effect on your journey or the journeys of other "veterans". It's such an exclusionary mentality and tactic to apply to a game that is supposed to be inviting.
