They said it will return to the game just like the pirate legend curse.

It’s unknown when though.

I hope they do, as it has a big impact on gameplay... I tried to make sure all my friends got it last season for that reason.

But, for those responding that Rare said it would come to the store, what they actually said was all Plunder Pass content not in the Emporium already would be added at a later date after the season ends. IIRC, this emote was on the standard free Season Pass not Plunder Pass, so no guarantees, sadly. It falls into the same bracket as any of the seasoned content.

It was a free emote. I’d be surprised if they sold it for ancient coin down the road.

I too, had to miss Season Two, despite having played SoT from the first months of the game. I missed out on this emote, too. But, it is way more than an fun emote. It has the potential to be game-changing for PvP players (or those who want to avoid PvP players).

I would gladly surrender most of the cosmetics and emotes that I have collected over the years, for the barrel hide emote.

Yes, please, do make it permanently available somehow! I would pay real money for it in the Emporium; but it really should be (permanently) free because to charge money really violates the principle of not having anything that is "Pay to Win".

You'll only trick newbs with that barrel emote. We use it as a joke. If you're not on a flat surface it doesn't line up with the terrain...

I could see it being included in a future 'hide' emote bundle as the free one.

@pithyrumble Newbs, and pirates moving too fast through the game. It has worked a number of times for my crew - even boarding a ship full of "Pirate Legends" then pulling this emote let us sail on their ship undetected for a while. At that point you can "haunt" other players by blending in to the scenery just enough while they're partially distracted.

It's a fun one anyhow.

@pithyrumble Which can be countered by chosing the spot carefully and hovering the camera around to check again.
Also many noobs probably aren't aware yet of the existence of an emote so lame that it summons a clutter item just for the sake of hiding.
I didn't believe it myself when it was introduced and thought it was going to be an animation loop.
Apparently the new meta is now counting the barrels on your ship everytime, great stuff.

@aribalam This is confirmed? I missed the emote and wanted to come back to the game but honestly if this emote never is going to return then I'm just going to move on to different things. So I've been researching for hours and can't find anything confirming anything from the pass returning that wasn't premium to begin with as of today not one free item from the plunder passes has ever made its way into the emporium.
