Not all emotes are about hiding. It's being suggested as a silly emote. Could even get your pet in there with you peeking up.
I think it would be hilarious to be at a skelly fort or something "spooky" and hide with the peek barrel
I understand but he's suggesting this emote as to "Make players more aware" that's just plain useless.
@capt-soul-beard Sure, as a way to be sneaky it wouldn't help, but this game has a lot of other fun aspects. Being able to be that ridiculous pirate failing to hide in a barrel might give you and other crews a good laugh.
It is in line with the pillar hide and the deck hide emotes. They aren't meant to actually hide you - though fast-moving players do often miss this - but to be funny. There are other funny emotes like the Valentine emotes and the barrel lifting emotes.
The point is to be funny. This would be an awesome emote!
