Webam Mic recognized, but XLR mic is not.

  • I've been having issues getting Sea of Thieves to recognize my XLR. I am currently using an AT2035 with a Presonus Studio 2 4 audio interface. I have done every single suggestion on how to fix typical mic issues, such as privacy settings, default audio settings, push to talk, and even checked my NAT to ensure Teredo was working appropriately. The only issue here is the XLR not being recognized. Has anyone had this issue, and is there a fix to make this work? I may be able to settle with the Webcam mic as I just figured it was recognized 5 minutes ago, but would prefer to run the XLR.

  • Is the AT2035 input into the Presonus interface set to default microphone source in Windows?

  • @yourenowontv
    Yeah it is

  • @goodintromusic If I can ask another relatively obvious question, does your AT2035 work in any other game?

I wish SoT had an option to target a Microphone like other programs do, this would be so much easier to fix for you, and others.

The presonus needs to be your default audio and communications device. It should show up in your sound devices. When SoT is launched, alt tab out and go to sound settings and see what input is by default.

To further complicate things, but to make it.. consistent, and testable more than current.. perhaps try using voicemeeter.
Then your inputs can be multiple like your presonus, the output of browser, vent/teamspeak/discord/etc, and you just select which ones are selected for your output.

It can get a little confusing but based on your gamer name and your equipment, I think it would be good to get into.

  • @YoureNowOnTV it does work in other games, yes.

@dyfrin it is selected as the default and audio communications device. I feel like SoT doesn't recognize the input by presonus, not that it isn't selected. Everything else recognizes presonus. I have made a temp fix by selecting my webcam mic, but I'd much prefer to not yell at my monitor lol.

I feel like it's either a coding issue on Rare's end with Presonus being recognized, or something else. I've literally done everything that can be googled in regards to communication issues with microphones and Sea of Thieves.

Try the voicemeeter option, as that "go between" can recognize the Presonus and I know SoT can recognize the voicemeeter.

It's a pretty fun thing to use, having the ability to inject music/clips/shows into your mic for other pirates to hear, or using modifications for voice.

Although it isn't ideal to install something else to make something work, it may give you some benefit.
