Brig

  • Apply a timer to the brig that removes whoever inside from the crew.

  • No, might as well just allow a regular kick option at that point. Too easily abused.

  • No please! Don’t want it. It has been discussed to death.

  • @Legend-Satoshi Ahoy!

As @The-Lupino has said it would be too easily abused. It sounds good on paper but in reality a crew could vote a random to the brig right before turn in and replace them with their friend, essentially robbing the player of all their hard work. I'm all for robbing other crews of their loot but not our own crew turning against us.

I understand the frustration of having to deal with players that are trolling, going AFK to just collect loot for free, or being hostile toward the crew (verbally) but the dangers of "kicking an innocent player" outweigh the benefits of "kicking a hostile player."

I'd suggest using Discord, the Xbox looking for group feature, or the forums to find a reliable crew to sail with. Some times you get lucky with a random crew and sometimes you don't. It's more enjoyable to sail with people you can trust :)

  • @legend-satoshi Its a good idea on paper but in game it would be abused to death.

  • It's a great idea because I cant do an athena voyage without someone going afk.

I totally get if you've got a 12 year old in your crew that takes his controller to bed and presses a button once to stop the afk timer before we finish the athena, but I've played with at least 20 different people and almost everyone afks or doesn't contribute for at least 2 islands.

Theres was 1 guy who added me from the forums after I made a topic about this, and the next time I played with him he brought a friend who thought it would be a good time to shower for 20 minutes while they had someone keep them from afking.

Just make it so you can kick someone who doesn't contribute for a period of time

  • No thank you.

  • @je0rgie-p0rgie Great reply, instead of the usual “No” comments you put a point out there and actually explained why it would be a bad idea.

Wish more people commented like you do mate. Forums turning so toxic and petty it’s great to actually see these types of comments. Even if you do have to write them multiple times. :)

O.T: I personally feel the cons outway the pros of a kick feature, i believe it would cause a lot of problems for people who may have had 3 members leave there Galleon for example to have a 3 stack join and decide to kick them and take all the loot for the “Laughs”

  • @legend-satoshi LOL ... giggle ... so, well, now, why on earth should I want that?

  • No, it will without a doubt be abused.

If it is an AFK problem, I feel they should add an auto-kick to the Ferry of the Darned with a 10-15 minute timer it would help. If they AFK while alive, simply kill them and let the Ferry handle it.

  • @knifelife Thanks Knife I appreciate it! I think taking the time to explain things, especially to those who may not have been around as long as some of us, helps spread the knowledge we need to help improve our community. I'm not saying I'm always correct by any means because I'm absolutely not but I try to remain as informed as possible and pass along information when I can.

And in response to your post this is exactly what I think we need to avoid. Ironically last night my crew and I had a random join that was kind of talking down to everyone (even though he admitted to only having 3 days of game time under his belt) and then when we decided against turning in he climbed up to the crows nest and detonated our Stronghold Keg. We immediately brigged him (which he was proud of) and he spent the next two hours on the ferry, after he died in the brig from drowning, trying to recruit other ships to come and sink us.

We ended up giving the skull fort and voyage loot away to a sloop at an outpost so he wouldn't get any cash or rep reward. The sloop player was able to invite our non pirate legend friend to his ship so our friend could still get the rep and coin. In the end everyone won except for the one we brigged, and we made a new friend (the sloop guy).

I would have loved the opportunity to remove him from our session and find a random who wanted to be apart of our crew. However, as we've already discussed, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages and it's just not worth the risk of ruining an innocent player's experience.

  • We need to get rid of leeches. I've seen so many. Me and my gf rowboated around for 3 hours right before finishing an athena or cashing in loot. 2 people basically did nothing for 3 hours on an anchored ship just because they wanted the athena loot.

It would have been faster for them to finish than stay afk on the boat. Just lazy people

So, you kept playing with AFKers for 3 hours? You should have asked them to leave or you should have left yourself, right away.

We were like 4/8 when they went afk and 7/8 when we stopped doing the athena to rowboat around
