Kraken Guide *EDIT* Part 3

    So I will be making a Kraken guide in the near future. Hopefully when I run into it again I can remember to record the encounter.

    With the influx of people asking and begging Rare to change the way the Kraken works especially on Brigs I have made it my mission to run into this beast A LOT.

    "But how? Isn't it random chance?" - Yes and no. There is a certain rule that is present that I think 90% of the player base is unaware of.

    "Will you share that information?" - Umm....no. Reasons being that if people knew the information then avoiding the kraken is completely possible, which means Rare will change the way the Kraken works, which means I myself won't be able to avoid it. So....screw you guys :).

    Some information to help people for the time being before video is out.

    There is a tentacle that spawns right before it decides to wrap you. If that tentacle is damaged, then you can go through the whole encounter without being wrapped even once.

    "Which tentacle?" - I want to share that information but I'll wait till I release the guide. Hopefully since you are now aware that there is a specific tentacle, then maybe you and your crew will be more observant around the Kraken and not just run around repairing and shooting cannons blindly.

    Again sorry about the audio. I've said a few things that are incorrect.

    I said that as long as your boat is moving tentacle wrap is a low percentage. Sorry what I meant to say is that as long as your boat is moving the spawn rate of the tentacle is lower than what it would be if you were stationary.

    Again I will be making a better vid later. Right now I'm going to go make some food. Probably some broccoli beef or stir fry....don't know yet. New season of Brooklyn99 and new episode of orville to watch. So food and then I'll go grab kraken again.

    EDIT PART 2

    So in this video I am soloing a Kraken, Skelly Ship, AND a Meg.

    The settings were screwed up for the audio. So there is no commentary. I made sure I had 2 of the other bosses on me before the Kraken spawned.

    This was my game plan. I ignored the skeleton ship and the meg. The 3 bosses will take care of each other I just have to make sure my ships survives. Skeleton ship will shoot me, kraken, and meg. The meg while being hurt by the ink and the skelly ship will attack the tentacles and the skelly ship. The kraken will attack any ship that is within its ink.

    With me moving around so much you won't catch the meg until after the skelly ship gets taken out when I get a chance to not be stuck in my bottom deck. Somewhere near the end of the video.

    Now if this was a jig ball or sleep ball, I would have done things differently. I would have either A tried to keep my boats backside to the skelly ship or would have made sure to be on the opposite of wherever they are shooting. Again as long as you keep calm you'll be fine.

    At around 7:25 into the video the kraken blocked my stairs with a wrap. You'll see how I handled it.

    The only thing I can say that is a requirement are supplies. Planks and cannons.

    EDIT PART 3

    This is me fighting the Kraken, SOLO on a brig. SOLO. If I can do this well solo, then you all should have no problems with a full crew honestly.

    In this video I let it wrap me on purpose and I purposely didn't bucket or repair the first go around. I wanted to see exactly how fast the ship would sink if I tried to do nothing but get the tentacle off the boat. I had no choice but to bucket because I was getting close to sinking which again means, with a full crew or even with 1 other person you should have no problems with the Kraken.

    Second Try coming in 30mins (Second video no show, its too long and youtube wants my phone number even though we arent that close yet.) Will try to figure it out though.

    @xultanis-dragon Any possibility of sharing this information with players who love to hunt kraken? It's pretty annoying to be sailing, waiting for him to appear, he never shows up...

    Hrm this gives me one reason to fight it again for the sake of it when I encounter it to see what one it is for myself, see if I can find it out before the video is made.

    Kraken wont spawn to close to islands or rocks in the water.

    And i think that the Kraken has a higher spawnrate when u have loot on your ship, but this is solely based on my biased experience.

    When wrapped, attack the closest tentacle in the water to the wrapping one. Just look next to your ship and u will probably figure out which one it is to attack.

    @dennis-box I saw a dude get attacked by the kraken when he was barely a sword dive's distance away from the outpost he spawned at.

    @Xultanis-Dragon I too would like this information as I don't nearly get attacked by the kraken often enough and many in my circle are trying to reach legendary kraken hunter status.

    My top tip on avoiding the Kraken would be to stay on land. Put that in your video.

    About to upload 1 vid. I was changing recording settings and volume settings and she spawned sooner than I expected. I was sure I was safe but NOPE. Someone in the game checked off one of the boxes needed for her to spawn. Thank you to random person in game.

    If my voice sounds nervous its because I am. I was still in the middle of testing stuff and she spawned so I was worried the settings werent right. Audio is a little too quiet in the beginning and I couldn't say everything I wanted because she threw my whole presentation out the window by wrapping me right from the get go. But hopefully this video will help some of you understand a little bit.

    I will upload another 1 with better audio and more information.

    nicebut i dropp the anchor when i do the kraken,i really enjoyed doin the kraken solo,one time i defeated the kraken with just getting wrapped one time 3 holes ,the most important thing for me is being fast,when i see the slap is commin i feed the tentacle with cannons ,but i dont lookin around and search the wrap or slap tentacle,but its a good tactic,most important thing for me is dont run around on deck when the swallow moves come.interact with cannons or be on lowerdeck

    @king-deka It does. I just go down to hide right away. The faster you hide the faster it stop trying to suck you up. I was trying to go look for Kraken yesterday but all my friends got online so we did that instead. Hopefully I can do it today.

    I would love to know that as well, train my Kraken skills more often, i love the encounter but its soooooo rare

    I went ahead and added a second video.

    I made sure to have the skeleton ship and the meg on me before the kraken spawned. So there you go, what to do against all 3 bosses when you are a solo sloop.

    yea see ive stopped sharing .. as everyone says they wont tell anyone but the first thign they do is want to be cool and tell the next crew and then that crew gets on with new ppl and they tell them .. lol it's a joke .Everyone wants to be the cool person. How do you think the merchant thing got so out of hand . GG though as ive been keeping it to myself that 7:25 is how you get a tentacle off .. I've also figured out how to force spaswn everything. EDIT: I've told maybe 5 ppl how to force spawn things asking them to not tell ppl , AS MUCH AS THEY PROMISE, they are posting an LFG for it the very next day because they don't have a full crew. #scrubs

    Are you telling me you think there is a way to increase its spawn chance? I mean for months people have been saying the peculiar relic does this... but I haven't had any luck. Do you think if Rare put a way in for it to spawn more, for those that want to fight it more frequently, they wouldn't want you to share? I really doubt it man. I am short three Krakens to get those fine cannons, and I'd really appreciate the advice as I am having not much luck. I want to believe there is a way but like many say I think there is too much coincidence and not enough proof. I have never seen an LFG post revealing this "secret" and I use it every single day between games.

    I did solo one yesterday just outside Ancient Spire , and your advice was crucial. Great video and thanks for taking the time to make it.

    Thanks everyone. I've seen less and less people complain about solo Kraken which I'm happy about. Have no idea if I helped or not, but I am glad complaining has gone down.

    Defeating all 3 bosses at the same time can be a chore but as long as you let the Kraken and Meg take care of the skelly ship then you'll be fine.

    Again just to let everyone know the priority.

    Skeleton Ship will attack anything. Kraken, Meg, You.
    Meg will mainly attack the source of the most incoming damage. Kraken and Skeleton ship, it will ignore you if you ignore it. "But I've ignored it and it still attacks me." - It can attack you sometimes, however if you attack it back it will only attack you more. Ignore it, even if it attacks you it will focus on the kraken and the skeleton ship. Also if you are wondering, yes I have seen the meg charge a Kraken tentacle.

    The Kraken will attack ANY ship in its ink and will slow down any ship in its ink. So Skelly will get attacked like you do.

    I dont really care because I know I am not the only one that knows .Most that do know how won't tell because other players tend to abuse things like that, for instance the merch abuse. I'm just stating it's not me who's going to let it out of the bag. RARE can do what they please. I'm sure they see the stats on who does what

    Guaranteed its not a big a secret as you think it is. Rare is already aware, and if they consider it abused even if just by you, it'll be patched regardless.

    The irony here is.. even with you just posting to claim you arent telling anyone due to abuse shows you know that its most likely worth abusing or may eventually be regarded as an exploit. In doing this, you're afraid telling more people brings it to light getting it patched sooner so you can't "abuse" it for as much time on your own by flying under the radar

    Jokes on you just because i know and learn things doesn't mean I abuse them. I only post it is possible and that I know to encourage ppl to try to figure it out for themselves and that as much as they might doubt it . IT IS POSSIBLE. ALSO I don't claim it's a big secret at all . Just said I'm not telling. Honestly, someone wrote it in a streamers chat awhile back and the streamer read it out loud, NO ONE seemed to pay attention but certainly SOMEONE else must have read it and tried.

    I didn't think you meant anything by it at all , I'm laughing too. I'm just stating I don't care if rare knows I know. and to the guy under you who thinks i was just trying to show off how big my boat is (stating I know how) ,, it was really just to reassure it CAN be done

    @xultanis-dragon I solo‘d My first Kraken last week, thy to your Video, it gaves me hope and I defeated that Monster! It grabbed me, and I was seconds away from sinking but I’m outbailed it and grabbed the Commendation Count :) Before your Video I thought Kraken Solo is impossible, but no thx mate!

    I have added a part 3. This time I'm solo'ing Kraken in a Brig. Now before you go "OH MY GERD" I didn't kill her. Got close but she got me each time. First video is up. Second video will be up in 30mins.
