My most intense hour ever on a game!

  • So, late last night, myself and a friend were out adventuring on the seas for many hours and had amassed much loot.
We were up high on the map behind Smuggler's Bay when the fog came rolling in.
Both of us get excited at this as we are still hunting the Ghost shark and assume it is most likely found in the fog, so i climb the crows nest and look for the heaviest concentration of fog to sail towards, when far off to the East i see the skeleton ship cloud active.
Perfect! I need 4 skeleton skulls & chests to reach 20/20 and unlock those amazing skeleton ship cosmetics. So we set a course East and off we go, sailing full speed into the fog hoping for the best. We reach the correct area for the battle and notice a galleon has just entered the area to our South for the same reason. We decide to drop anchor and watch how they get on, and then attack them mid way through the final wave as they will have fewer resources left to defend against us.
Time to make a drink and make ready for battle!
The galleon sadly lasted about 3 minutes before it sank and we sprang into action and went on the offensive and began dispatching skeleton sloops and galleons alike, Safe in the knowledge we had over 300 cannon balls, 200 wood and many bananas. Not a problem! We managed to complete the battle and managed to collect every piece of treasure that rose from the depths from each ship we sank.
But no sooner had we boarded with the final piece of loot the seas turned a menacing dark and up from the depths rose the Kraken. We once again spring into action and make short work of it, also collecting more treasure.
Time to head to the outpost!
As we begin to sail south we notice a sloop close to Galleons grave getting into a battle with a skeleton ship and decide that there is no threat from that ship for a few minutes.
Approaching the outpost we raise sails and begin the turn towards the dock from the right when we suddenly spot a Brigantine there, (insert swear word here) from both of us as we see both sails drop and bulging eyes from the sailors on the deck as this small sloop glowing like a xmas tree limps around the corner.
Weighing up our best course of action, we quickly began to sail away as fast as we could, but boy is that Brigantine a fast ship and was bearing down on us in seconds!
Shots were fired and hits exchanged, my friend now was down below concentrating solely on repairs and bailing water whilst i could head towards any rocks i could find to buy us valuable time to try to gain the upper hand in this exchange.
    What's that noise?!!
A skeleton ship had now surfaced beside us and before long was barraging us with both cursed and standard cannon balls. With our anchor now dropped and sails forced up and limping around with broken legs and spewing up everywhere we both set upon repairs like crazy. ALL IS LOST! we were both convinced of it, but we managed to keep from sinking after what felt like an eternity of chaos. By now the Brigantine was also alongside us and i was fighting pirates off whilst spewing in their faces, whilst my poor friend was down below hammering planks and bailing like a woman possessed! Somehow we are still afloat and i manage to raise the anchor, drop sails and try to get the hell out of there.
Now a meg joins the party and bites us. Of course it does! So we are once again facing the Brigantine and ghost ship, i decide to just ram the Brigantine and hope to inflict more damage to them, knowing i had a superhero down below decks keeping us afloat.
Finally a break in our fortune and the ghost ship and meg both attack their ship. I see fog forming down in the Devil's Roar and decide to make a run for it, using every large rock and Volcano for cover in the hope we will lose sight of them behind us.
At this point i finally realized that i should breath and take some valuable gulps of air.
We might make it out of this after all! Morrows Peak Outpost was now close, but we decided against it as we knew the Brigantine would look for us there first, so we sailed further into the fog and using the map set a course for Ancient Spire, breaking free of the fog we spot a parked sloop at the outpost and both begin our cursing, but decide to try our luck at reaching Plunder Outpost, the wind was against us and yet another shark had now appeared and we were down to 13 cannon balls.
Time to take in turns jumping overboard every time we sighted some barrels in the sea. Only to be thwarted every single time by the barrels sinking as either of us swam close to them.

You suddenly get the feeling the sea wants it's treasure back!

But we made it to Plunder and managed to offload every single item..

I have had some amazing adventures playing this game. But nothing has come close to that experience.
We survived where we really shouldn't have!
Many times we were on the edge of going under with water almost spilling in from the rear of the sloop.
The emotions we both went through during that hour were crazy.

Would i want that every time i played this game. I don't know. But it was great to have that experience and to come out the other side on top.

Happy sailing everyone and thanks for taking the time to read my adventure.
