  • Yes! Play the game very day :D
I guess the best way is to get yourself a good crew and head off to sink the skelly Ships. The captain of the final ship drops a lot of loot!

  • Earning commendations from The Bilge Rat Adventures also come with the new form of currency: Doubloons. These may be traded for "letters of recommendation" (at 30db each) to one of the three factions. Each letter of recommendation (currently) bumps you one full level with the chosen faction.

Wiser pirates are saving their doubloons until their levels are in the high 40s when the grind gets longer and harder, and the bump from a letter of recommendation will be so much more beneficial.

  • @reivag95 There are currently many youtube videos showing with tips and tricks to grinding in faction in the most efficent way possible. Look up Pirate legend as fast as possible, to find them. Or you can look on LFG or post on LFG for Pirate Legends who are willing to help you grind. They all have there own unquie methods and with access to higher quest allows for more consistent high teir loot.

  • @reivag95 It doesn't necessarily matter how long you've played the game, it's how many hours you've put into each game session.
Someone who can play eight or more hours a day over the course of one month would be higher ranked than if they only played two hours a day over three months.

Of course not everybody has the luxury of free-time but if you do, hit it up as much as possible.
Mix things up a little to make it less tedious. I find it better to try to keep the faction reps as level as possible.
Try to find a permanent crew and play with them regularly so they will want to do the same factions as you.
Cash-in regularly so as not to lose any unsaved progress.

A good boost to your rep would be knocking out one or two skull forts during the course of each game session.
Do the events until you are in the high 40s in rep then buy the rest with doubloons.
I personally stuck to the original grind but I don't think any less of others buying the letters of recommendation.

The best advice I got was to NOT focus on reaching pirate legend status. Just have fun with it and before you know it you'll be there.

Fair winds and happy sailing. :o)

  • @reivag95 look man once you find a crew to sail with on a regular basis itll come dont worry

  • @reivag95

There's no easy way unfortunately. You just got to grind! :)

I like to listen to podcasts while doing the missions, I advise you to do something similar when it gets boring after the 10th merchant quest!

With the new alliance system it's also wise to ally up with someone whos doing the same as you. You dont have to be close to eachother to gain eachothers gold and reputation! :) Say you're doing merchant missions while your allies are doing gold hoarders, its a great way to level up multiple factions at once.

  • I suggest not making it a grind. Sure, you set out to do merchant missions or dig up some chests, but be open to whatever may come along. Allow yourself to be distracted and just enjoy the ride.

I actually stopped paying attention to my rep and just play. It stopped feeling like work. I do like the shipwrecks. Not just for the loot, but the supplies they hold and you can touch on all three factions from one dive.
