    Help me understand.... please

    Im completely baffled. I actually want to applaud whoever is in charge for one of the biggest video game heists ever. I downloaded this game so i cant even turn it in to gamestop. I dont even know what to say really, but i felt like i had to say something... sooo blah...

    While im here i might as well entertain myself by writing a list of analogies for this game.

    1. Basketball game with no hoops.
    2. Kangaroo with one leg longer than the other.
    3. Skateboarding underwater
    4. Trying to open a door from the hinge side.
    5. Blowing into the top part of a whistle
    6. Climbing down a tree head first
    7. Clapping with high heels on your hands
    8. Putting a empty bookbag, in a empty gym bag, in a empty suitcase and wearing 2 weeks of clothes.
    9. Taping darts to the wall and throwing the dart board
    10. The Division.....

    I feel a bit better.... thanks

    Give Rare a chance. They are brand new. Also, Microsoft just started. Let's wait and see if these new companies have what it takes to survive. /sarcasm

    No AI pirate ships
    No AI Navy
    Only 2 types of ships
    No meaningful character upgrades
    No meaningful ship upgrades
    No clan/crew mechanics
    No flag design

    Just a few of the major ones

    @dislex-fx state of decay 2 is coming out in a few weeks. I honestly don't think sea of thieves has a chance. Im really bummed out bc i wanted this game to be great. First hour of game play i would have gave this game a 10 outta 10.... then it hit me like a ton of bricks..... OMG.... ive bamboozled...

    Oh. I know. A.I. ships would be much easier.

    @knox50k awesome. Another complaining topic to add to the long list of other complaining topics that flood the SoT forum. Don't tell me, you're complaint is unique and special so you didn't feel it could simply be added to any of the other ranting topics, right?

    @dislex-fx More ships to attack, more things to do between point A to point B. And just pure content that this game doesn't have. Also they will probably take the players place in a few months when the players will have run away.

    almost all of this list are things rare specifically said wouldn't be in the game and you then bought it expecting it to be in the game? One of the main reasons I like this game is it lacks most of the things on this list

    1. Super fancy treasure chest that you can't open or enjoy but instead have to sell so you can save up for that bargain bin Primark t'shirt that you always wanted.

    @zealousguardian Yeah, this is one complaint I do have about the game: the amount of coin you need to buy just about anything. That and the lack of said options available for things to buy. I'm very hopeful that Rare will address both the issues in time. We'll see.

    @knox50k by most of your problems with this game I think it just isn't for you, most of what you typed won't change and if the others come they will be very very far away.

    So you just buy whatever the next big game is no questions asked? Seriously this game isn't for everyone at the moment and you probably could have figured that out by just reading a review, or coming to these forums beforehand. No one ripped you off, they never lied about what was gonna be in the game at launch, people hyped it up way to much on their own.

    Well, if SoT is like the Division, then it has a fairly okay future ahead of it. The Division is actually pretty good now, at least compared to how it was released.

    @zealousguardian don't sell it then, it doesn't matter. the game is what happens in between getting and turning in loot and succeeding is just the cherry on top. I started keeping all loot on my ship and posing for pictures before turning in. Haven't been punished yet but imagine that player that succeeded and say 50+ treasure floating from my sinking ship, that alone is amazing and he gets to buy that stupid shirt instead of me. I play and have fun if you can't sorry but as long as a community stays I will be here.

    @spec24 i payed 180$ for myself, my son and a friend... so i basically paid 200$ to write this post bc theres no game to play.

    Ok, granted. However, you knew this coming into the game. No one promised you more. I am happy with the game as it is and as it will become.

    I was just being sarcastic, in line with the OP.

    But I did still have a legit point. Almost everything you can purchase in the game is incredibly out of touch with the rewards gained. The economy makes your treasure feel the complete opposite of treasure. It's practically worthless. Which doesn't incentivise treasure hunting... other than for what you suggested. Taking a selfie with your worthless stash.

    Because in the end that's almost all that fancy loot is good for! A picture of what it could be. Should be. But, simply, isn't.

    Anyways, good for you if you can get all your jollies from a screenshot before you trade in all your treasures for a pittance.

    @knox50k i got to says i like thsi game a lot but i can't disagree with this. I have been wanting for NPC ships of all kinds for a while now

    @dislex-fx and they probably wont just spawn kill you for hours (as scuttling your ship doesn't really help much.) ; Aside from that it would most likely add more ship based raiding and make targeting new players a bit harder without removing the looting aspects altogether. Currently it seems that there's too much focus on ANY ship in the ocean meaning that advanced crews will hunt down and destroy noobs thinking they are advanced treasure hunters as there's no way to distinguish between them and no other ships to attack.

    All of the reasons you listed, aside from the only 2 ships, are the exact reasons why I love this game. It sounds to me like you're asking for a single player PvE only vertical progression grind game. No thanks.

    Do you have any friends? The game is a playground. How you play in it is up to you. Play with friends and it comes alive.

    How are you a founder and somehow didn't know these things wouldn't be in the game when you bought it? The smallest amount of research would have made that clear.

    @knox50k Biggest video game heist ever? Clearly you haven't heard of what happened with a PC game called The Stomping Land. That was a heist, this sounds like SoT just isn't your kind of game. And ok you paid $180 was it? for 3 people?.....or if you were clever, you could have just bought the game pass for those 3 people and it would have cost you $30 =/
