@stundorn Yeah but casuals are killing every games.
WoW died cause of Casuals, people playing only 2h per day cant raid etc, so cant get good stuff.
Really?! WoW died, isn't that this big game with Millions of players?
If you need 12hrs to get good stuff is that what it needs to make a good game?
Can't take you serious sorry. Playing 12hrs a day seems to be not that healthy especially for argumentation about "playing".
You know i don't care if you use "games" to "work" for and put "effort" in it to have fun or "invest" time to be successfull.
You know that is not what i call playing a game, that is what i call compensating and addictive behaviour.
I'm sure there are Games for players like you i won't touch.
I asked here to ensure if this game is casual friendly and renounce gamemechanics what want me to "race" to be competetive.
If you blame casuals for destroying games i can turn it around and say hardcore gamers desroy games for me, because of driving the measures allways that high and developers aren't able or willing to control them.
Good to have someone developing a game where time spent exploiting or min-maxing isn't the key to perform in this game.

And actually you said "if you need progression", but there's progression on SoT, every games got some. Otherwise it's not a game.
ehrm what? hahaha lol :D
please make yourself familiar with what playing games in general is about.
It's a lot, but not progression only!
And there are tons of games without any progression that are played for thousands of years.
I'm ok with games for hardcore gamers only, but lately lot of casual friendly games are kidnapped by hardcore gamers and addicts, destroying it for the rest.
I don't agree that casuals aren't passionate about a game.
I have games i played 30, 50, 100 hours and even 1700 hours. Passionate enough?
I also disagree that casual gamers aren't skilled or less willing to pay money. I donated a lot of money in KS Games or support developers otherwise.
To self-constitute an elite group of gamers aka hardcore gamers and blame all the others isn't helpfull or educated or answering my question at all.
but you can answer a question, you should be experienced enough and have the knowledge.
What is the progression SoT has it otherwise wouldn't be a game?
please explain.
@Captain-Surgee
i see what you want to say, but playerskill and equipment arent gamemechanics. I just want to be sure there are no gamemechanics favoring hardcore gamers except practice playing the game.

I actually like the idea of no levels, no skills to add to your character and things like that. I feel keeping everyone at a very level playing field while making cooperation and vocalization between you and your crew to be an amazing way to make the game play out.
I think if a game is good that it's all it needs to have.
@cyriljepan
what do you think does it need to keep you motivated?
i just played a couple of hours and did some treasure chest hunting.
I think if the missions are fun to play and somewhat diverse, if there is enough cosmetic collectables and such i have content enough, because i only play casually.
For people who want to play 12hrs a day it's maybe not enough, but i'm not a developer or care for their problem. I have enogh real life problems i don't want to get involved with people havong trouble with games that don't provide content for 12hr gamesessions every day :-)
