@jokerxfacexptx Anytime you can communicate with others is the best, the game is at the core of it team based, so team up and have some fun with others!
@jokerxfacexptx Then I think the best way to play is set up the sails and go treasure hunting or start sabotaging other players boats!
@jokerxfacexptx You can use the smaller ship which has everything at the wheel so you don't need to run around. It's still easier with 2 people but certainly doable with 1, which is what i plan on doing.

Don't forget to raise the anchor and lower the sails. You can adjust the sails from either side of the ship using the ropes to catch the wind which makes you faster.
This right here. Took me about 5 minutes before I realized my anchor was still down....

My bad!Solo slooping.
It's fun, but you have to remember that you have to operate a ship by yourself including all it's tasks. Whereas a galleon can spread out the tasks, so can a duo on the sloop. This also means that if you come across anyone the chance is high that you will be outnumbered so PVP encounters are not in your favour. However, that doesn't mean they are impossible.Solo slooping doesn't mean you have to keep your head on a swivel, however it does mean you have to keep a lookout. You, ideally, want to spot everyone before they spot you as this gives you the chance to make a plan. You can hide your treasure, break line of sight, try to make an alliance etc etc. Other than that, explore and try out different things. Don't see failure as an obstacle or something extremely negative. In SoT there's enough freedom for you to reflect and realize you forgot about an option you didn't realize you had. The game doesn't overly punish you for failure, so try different things!!!
@jokerxfacexptx best tip I can give is... whatever happens, just enjoy it!
chances are, at some point you will die/sink/have treasure stolen etc but just keep on keeping on!
if you die, you respawn..if you sink, you can get another ship... if you your treasure is stolen, you can find more... or steal it back 😁
simply enjoy!Play with a four man or two man crew first, so you can learn how everything works. Solo can be pretty difficult for a pirate just jumping into the game.
Loot everything!! You can always use boards, bananas, and cannon balls.
Mic up whenever possible. The chat wheel is nice and has a lot of phrases but it doesn't have everything you might want to say.
