We have shoddy wifi at my house. Some days it's stellar, others it's absolute dogwater. On days where it's not so great, I tether my phone's wifi to my PC. However something peculiar started occurring around season 10-12 (I can't recall specifically); When my phone is tethered to the PC, it will completely cut off my ability to use Voice Chat in Sea of Thieves, that includes both ingoing and outgoing.
This doesn't make the game unplayable, but I quite literally have to announce every session that I cannot use VC at all, which more often than not results in people leaving the session. I understand this is a highly niche issue, but any guidance whatsoever would really help out.
Worth noting is the phone does not display as an audio device to change to or from. There's no way for me to remove it because it doesn't appear anywhere relevant to be removed. Also worth noting is that once in a blue moon, the game will allow me to use VC while tethering, but these instances are rare and I have no explanation for them.
