Anytime I take out items/weapons/quests it's immediately put back.

Haven't played the game for quite a while until just recently cause I wanted to see if the charm is still there, definitely is. Although, both times I've hopped on I've encountered the same bug both times that has now forced me to watch my ship slowly fill up with water along with hours' worth of loot (not the best feeling in the world). Randomly when I open up the inventory wheel and try to take something out it plays the animation but then immediately plays the animation of putting it away afterwards, catching me in a loop of trying to take out flameballs, quest maps, bananas, wood, and this most recent time...my bucket. The first time it happened I was just digging for chests and tried to take out my map and it started doing the bug. Now, in the middle of fighting a skeleton sloop, I was patching a hole and got hit in the middle of fixing it, which then caused the bug making me unable to bucket anymore water as I then watched my loot and entire afternoon sink away. Has anyone else had this problem and is there any fix or underlying cause of the bug?
