My crew and I were out doing merchant emissary missions, and in the middle of a quest a player started saying stuff like "Don't kill sharks, you risk summoning the shadow one" and "Come to the ancient spire outpost tavern for treasure! It's a special day because it's Ramses birthday". We sailed over figuring maybe it was part of the quest because we kept running into dead ends. Upon arriving to the island, I was the one steering the ship. Right as we got close, my entire computer outright shut off, and my friends got attacked while my computer was down. We lost a ton of stuff, all of our canonballs and wood and supplies were taken, all of our merchant chests were taken (about 20). We were on a galleon, and go figure my friends didn't take any screenshots of this, and my recorder didn't work when I got back in when we tried chasing the players down.
[Mod edit] We don't know a lot about the game, we were enjoying ourselves up until this point.
Anyone else run into this issue?

So sorry to hear you had a rough time on the seas, unfortunately sinking ships and stealing supplies is all a part of the pirate's life!
Never trust a pirate you don't know... always keep your witts about you!
Sorry for my poor wording Im still peeved. Anyway we thought they were devs because nobody was around us anywhere, and we killed a shark and they told us they saw us do it right when it happened. And then the onslaught of text in all caps about the so called birthday party started up, still no players anywhere around us or near our ship. That's why we thought they were devs.
@vextrakooky What probably happened, you had someone tuck on your ship from another crew, they told you to go to Ancient Spire, where the other crewmembers were waiting, and attacked you as you arrived there?
This situation is textbook tucking.
While fighting that Megalodon you managed to let a Pirate or two on board and left them to hide somewhere on your ship. If you weren't slashing barrels with a sword or flashing your lantern at any corners of the ship, or even just looking around as many places as you can, you can easily miss where they decided to hide themselves and left yourself open to ambush
Was probably not a good idea to listen to a voice that doesn't display text at the same time on the bottom of the screen like most Tall Tale NPCs, and Flameheart, and the Ashen Lords. This is a guaranteed fault on your crew's end.
@nex-stargaze I didn't say it was a meg, it was just a small little shark I killed by myself while my crew was doing some rounds on the ship while we were parked at cinder islet.
