Inactivity Timer

  • Long Story short... Solo session... Stuck in a rowboat with 10k worth of treasure being hunted and trying to find my way to a port.. The dreaded midnight tick is imminent and I know the family will want to hoo har about it so I think gah alright, so I find a little island, I stow my rowboat between some rocks, relatively obscured, I ferry all my items inland and drop them in some bushes, I then lay myself down in some more bushes. I think damn I hope I can just hide out for 20mins.

I come back to discover I have been disconnected from the server due to inactivity. Now I'm now complaining as such but.... How long is this timer? But I also kind of am complaining because clearly this feature is at least in part present to prevent people leeching off the accomplishments of others but the thing is... I was on my own, no leeching, no piggybacking, no unfairness, my own work. Bah it sucked.

  • @myrmidonnn They put this time in place for everyone regardless of what you are or aren't doing. Just always keep it in mind. I haven't timed it personally but I believe it's 10 minutes before you become a lazybeard. If you are on the ferry you will not get the lazybeard. Yet you can still lose your loot while on the ferry. If you get a server merge and loot is not on your boat you can lose it that way as well. Also if you jump or move around every few minutes you will be fine. It's best not to chance it and just turn the loot in. I usually give myself a 30 minute buffer to turn in loot before the time I want or need to leave the game. In most cases this works out well. Good luck matey!
